PRESIDENT'S REPORT 1979 has been a year of good

progress in pur Club. The fact that our team took ~he

· wooden spoon should be over looked by the success of our Social events and financial gains. After a promising start with good early season form it was disappointing to see team spirit die out to a dull flame up to the last few games where.it was re~arding to feel the ole Panther Heart Pump Again.

Like I said I feel that the Social side of the Club was one of the biggest successes for 1979 ~nd would like to thank the full Committee for all their concentrat~d efforts during the year to achieve this. Special th~s going to Rob Dixon, David McCathie, Allan Hammond, Wayne Winslade, Jenny Wins lade, Mick Ahern and Miss Ki.m Rapley for her great part as Club Queen.

I would like to wish a~ much more successful year for on and off the field in 1980 and trust that

i the income off ice bearer will receive the wi~lingness given to me to make my term as President an enjoyable one.

SOCIAL SECRETARY'S REPORT

I am pleased to report that the , Social activities for 1979 were

suceessful and enjoyable functions , and extend my thanks and gratitude

to those people who were kind enough to allow us the use of their homes to hold some of them~

The.annual wind-up for both under-17's and seniors held at Erina Heights Hotel and Gosford Sailing Club respectively were very entertaining and my congratulations go to those who played well enough during the year to win trophies.

That is the good news, now comes the bitch. Unfortunately these functions were organised and attended by the same few all the time and I think it is time the res~ of our Members began to do their bit. We may then have the pleasure of success on the field as well as off. A Successful, winning club is our ultimate aim and can only be achieved with the effort of every single club member, including our wives and non-players. Let us all support the few who have had to do their own share and everyone else's for far too long.

My special thanks for their wives and support go to Des McKenzie 1 Rob Dixon, Wayne Winslade and for the "turn-out" of the year, Peter Goodale.

Wishing the club all the best for 1980, Thank.you,

Allan Hammond SOCIAL SECRETARY
