Blaine Unicycle Club

Students learn to ride the unicycle working in small groups, with partners, as well as independent practice. We also

work on various circus arts skills including juggling, stilts, ball-walking, and other wheeled apparatus. Learning to

unicycle is a challenging skill and students learn to ride at different rates depending on their prior experience,

level of interest, and time on task. The Unicycle Club performs at special school events including Blaine Middle

School pep assemblies, neighborhood parades, as well as other special events in the Seattle area.

Creative Coding 4 Kids

Teaching kids the joy of coding computers by helping them write their own customized computer games! Today's

computers are more like a box of crayons than a calculator. The most important traits for coding today are crea-

tivity and persistence. We teach girls & boys the fundamentals of coding by making it fun. Our non-sequential,

project-based approach wins rave reviews from parents & kids alike!

Debate Club

A fun, interactive club that uses games and other activities to teach debate. We end with an actual match! Debate

Foreign Languages with Language Link, LLC

Art, music, drama and games guide the curriculum for our Mandarin and Spanish classes. We offer beginning, inter-

mediate and advanced levels in these languages from kindergarten through middle school grades. Since our fo-

cus is on oral proficiency, classes are conducted entirely in the target language so that students are fully engaged

in the language and culture they are studying.

Fueled by Yoga

Let's get bendy, go upside down and engage the natural enthusiasm of kids in this energy releasing yoga class. Clas-

ses aim to enhance your child's body awareness, balance and coordination, as well as build strength. Mind-body

activities help children develop sensory integration skills, self-awareness and self-esteem. Breathing techniques

are incorporated that help children self-soothe and regulate their minds.

Glee Club

Glee Club sings music that is uplifting, fun, age-appropriate and challenging. We sing many styles of music, learning

choreography and performance.

Songsterz – NOW OPEN TO GRADES K- 8th!

A fun and creative class where students learn about music through creating a song as a class and then each student cre-ates their own original song. Dancing, word games, rhythm games, and Native American hand drums are some of the tools we will use to learn how to create and perform a song. Students learn about microphone technique and stage pres-ence. No previous music experience required. Guitar, piano, or percussion are collaboratively added and each student receives a digital file of the end of the session performance recording of the group song and their own original song. Stu-dents can choose to create a song as an individual or collaborate with others in class.

Sound Formation Rhythm & Percussion

Hand-percussion is incredibly powerful, fun, and a great way to connect and grow with friends. You will be amazed at how your rhythm on percussion, will transfer over to piano, violin, and any other instrument. Our curriculum is simple, comprehensive, and delivers amazing results in a short time. The atmosphere is one of strategic games, enhancing crea-tivity, having fun, connectivity, growing listening ability, developing attention, and strengthening learning ability. We’ll have an incredible performance on the last day. Workbook and materials included. Our staff is compiled of outstanding percussionists, drummers, and music educators with music degrees and extensive teaching and performing backgrounds.

Stone Soup Theatre

In Story Drama (Grades K-2nd), new readers will find new ways of enjoying and sharing their favorite stories. Students will play theater games that will help them learn the basics of theater and acting while increasing their listening skills, confi-dence, concentration skills and ability to work together. In Fractured Fairy Tales (Grades 3rd – 8th), Helga and Olga Grime claim that they, not their brothers, are the true fairy tale writers. They… …say their brothers changed the ending, and now they want to show the world the true fairy tales, as they were supposed to be. So, they hired a rag tag group of ac-tors and this is the result!
