Yahoo Carefree Families!
Wow, what a great kick-off to Stampede last weekend with the annual Carefree Stampede Break-
fast. Ron Lalonde and his team of volunteers served up a fantastic breakfast for all. He even man-
aged to lasso a few of the Board members to flip and fry for our guests! I wasn’t able to attend, but
word has it that the family and adult dances did not disappoint! Certainly a weekend of great enter-
tainment for everyone at the resort. Our heartfelt thanks to all those that volunteered and made this
come together!
It’s great to see how many families are able to enjoy the Carefree lifestyle during the summer holi-
day season. Sure wish mother nature would cooperate and shine just a bit more; but my goodness,
the grass sure is green and lush this year. A quick shout out to our groundskeepers for the fantastic
work they do. Don’t you just love how fabulous the beautiful hanging baskets and planters look
throughout the resort? Thank you Judy, for your special care and gift to make the blossoms never
ending!
Since I’m on my thank you rant… I also want to thank our Security Team for ensuring we have a
safe and secure (and quiet) environment to enjoy. The population of the resort is naturally high on
the weekends, and both Ron and Julie have (in my experience) been firm but understanding when
they stop by our lots to remind us of the courtesies we should extend to our neighbors in the late/
early hours of the weekends. They do a great job with a great approach to enforcing the resort’s by-
laws and policies.
Be sure to come watch the always enjoyable Kids Ball Tournament this weekend. The innocent en-
thusiasm always reminds me to enjoy the simple things in life, and embrace our families and chil-
dren. This is what Carefree is all about! Please review this newsletter for other social events and
contact the office if you’re not sure how to register for upcoming events.
Enjoy the rest of the Stampede week and stay safe! In the spirit of Stampede… When you reach
the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on!

THANK YO MARINA UPDATE: REGULATION CHANGE!
This spring during our annual AGM, there was a great discussion about changing our regulations
to allow two personal water crafts per slip and following our AGM outside the clubhouse, one of
the members had a factory manufactured floating docking system on display. On the Saturday
June 29th, during the past long weekend, all board members met down at the day docks for an
initial test of this factory manufactured floating docking system. The results were positive and so
we requested that our member install it in his slip. Again, positive results as we didn’t see a lot of
pressure on the docks while personal water craft were being loaded.
The next step was that we needed a regulation changed. The following motion was made,
seconded and approved:
“Two Personal Watercraft per slip will be allowed but only when they are on a factory manufac-
tured and Marina board approved floating docking system under a trial basis for the 2019 boating
season and this trial can be revoked at any time by the Marina Board.”
If you are interested in seeing this manufactured floating docking system, head down to the end
of “B” array and it is in slip 169, right beside the end pile. If you are interested in going with two
personal watercraft in your slip please contact a board member. PLEASE remember this a trial
basis for the 2019 season, and if we find that this system applies to much pressure to our docks,
then this trial can be revoked at any time.
Weather permitting, next year we are planning on installing piles along each of the arrays. This
will strengthen each array and should provide better support for further Marina Board approved
factory manufactured floating docking systems.

These are the result of a corroded plug. Please
check your electrical plug for discoloration or
damage when you unplug it, and if you find any-
thing, please call the office. We can arrange to
have it changed at your expense.
Did You Know… As per Carefree Resort Policy, golf carts
may be operated only by persons with a val-
id Driver’s License.
Children may definitely NOT drive golf carts,
nor can a child drive the cart while on an
adult’s lap.
All passengers must be seated on appropri-
ate seating; no standing anywhere on the
cart while it is moving.
GOLF CART INSURANCE As you know, we require proof of insurance for all golf carts as per
policy, and have been enforcing this for a few years.
Please bring in your current proof of liability insurance to the Office
in order to receive your required ‘19’ sticker. We will be looking for your name, expiry date and speci-
fication that the golf cart is in fact covered. If the insurance you submitted last year is still viable,
come into the office and we will give you your sticker.
Golf carts found driving around the resort without a ‘19’ sticker will be escorted back to their
respective lots, and should remain parked until the sticker has been issued. If a golf cart is caught
without the appropriate sticker more than once, a fine of $25.00 will be issued to the lot owner. Re-
peat offenders can expect increasing penalties including having their golf cart removed from the re-
sort.
We are confident that this procedure will ensure that our Carefree community is a safer place
for all residents.
