DIRECTORSDIRECTORSDIRECTORS
Dear Carefree Family:
Can you believe this is the last weekend of the summer? How quickly it has flown by! We sure experienced
some extreme weather this year: from very cool to very hot days, torrential rain to hail and some very strong
winds. But that sure hasn’t kept us from coming and enjoying our Resort.
Last weekend, lots of families participated in the scavenger hunt, which was completed in just 45 minutes by
Hope, Connor & Liam – must be a record of some kind! A fun time was had by all the brave participants in
the Karaoke events. Super showing for the car show with a wide variety of vehicles and some very proud kids
showing off their cars – what a great addition.
The backbone of a thriving community is the volunteers that donate time and talent to make activities happen.
Many Carefree residents have come forward this year to organize and/or work events and this is reflected in
the large number of activities that we have enjoyed this season. On behalf of the Board and Management,
THANK YOU for giving back to our community and making so many activities available for all ages to enjoy.
Speaking of activities, this weekend is REALLY, REALLY, BIG and offers something for Carefree residents
of all ages:
Friday: Bingo – last bingo for the season
Saturday: Craft Sale
Sunday: Corn Roast (burgers, pizza, corn and cake while supplies last), bounce castles, wagon rides,
music, beer garden to name a few, and an adult dance in the evening. Thanks to Don and Resort staff
for organizing.
Those volunteers I mentioned earlier will be out in full force at these events. So, if you appreciate them as
much as we do, show it by thanking them when they serve or help you this weekend.
For the Kids:
What animal is always at a baseball game? A bat
How do you get a squirrel to like you? Act like a nut
Why didn’t the skeleton go to the dance? He had no body to dance with
Have a great weekend!
Twyla,
OBO the Board of Directors

LOST & FOUND
We have a lot of items in our Lost & Found bin in the laundry room, and also smaller items in the office.
There are items of clothing, life jackets, and various other items.
In the office, we have a variety of keys, key cards, glass-es, jewellery, trailer license plate, credit cards, pipe, ratchet strap, hockey stick, and a walkie talkie.
Please check Lost & Found for your lost items.
Food Bank Donations!!
Summer is winding down and before long we will all be
packing up our trailers for another year.
Instead of hauling all that unused food back
home... why not donate it to a good cause? A
Donation Bin for the Calgary Food Bank will be
in the office from the last week of August until
the Thanksgiving weekend. All non-perishable
food items are welcome!
NO TIME WASTED HERE! Hope, Connor and Liam fin-
ished the Scavenger Hunt in 45 minutes, from start to finish.
More than 60 children, plus adults took part in the annual
Scavenger Hunt last Saturday morning. There were 25 items
on the list to find, and take pictures of. Each of the children
received an ice cream coupon at Scoops Too.
Bottle Drive For Pick-Up after the
