Friday and Friday Nights Importance : The children of Hazrat Yaqoob ( a.s.) [Jacob] asked their father to request Allahto forgive them. Hazrat Yaqoob (a.s.) said; " I will ask for you forgiveness from, my Lord" (Yusuf12, verse 98).Interpreting this verse, Imam Sadeq (a.s.) has said: "Hazrat Yaqoob (a.s.) delayed asking forgiveness until dawn ofFriday night."There are two hours on Friday when Duas are answered: one is when Friday leader has completed the sermon and the

worshippers are prepared for Friday prayer. The other is the last moments of Friday that is: "When half face of the sunis hidden."GHUSL :Holy Prophet said:"O Ali! People must bathe [at least] once every seven days, so do Ghusl (bathe) every Friday,

even if you have to buy the water with [the money set aside for] your provision of that day and go without food, for there is norecommended act of worship greater than it."[Reference: Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 81, p. 129, no. 18]SADAQAImam Jafar Sadiq (a.s.) said, My father was having less money and had more expenses,despite that he used togive Sadaqahevery Friday. He used to say that the reward of Sadaqah onFriday is two-fold, for Friday is better than all other days. According to Imam Jafar bin MuhammadAs Sadiq alms and charity, given on Friday, collect and gather, in return, compensation, what is duemultiplied by 1000 times. Give out in the name of Allah as soon as the night begins.

SALAWAAT The narrator asked Imam Jafar Sadiq (a.s.), Which is the best deed on Friday? Imam(a.s.) replied, Reciting Duroodon Muhammad (s.a.w.s.) and his progeny a hundred times afterSalaat-e-Asr on Friday. It is better to recite more than that. (Sawabul A'amaal )

O Allah, (please) bless Muammadand the Household of Muammad.

Imam also advised us to recite the foll as many times as possible,During the night & till the end of the Friday:

O Allah send blessings on Muhammad and on

the children of Muhammad. Very soon, as earlyas possible, send them to us, a joy after

sorrow. And destroy their enemies, From

among the jinn and men, From the beginning

to the end.

alamdu lillhi al-awwaliqabla al-insh'i wal-iy'i

Al l praise be to Al lah, theFirst before the bringing forthand the giving of life,

wal-khiri ba`da fan'i al-ashy'iand the Last after theannihilation of all things, al`almi alladh l yansman dhakarahthe All-knowing Who forgetsnot him who remembers Him,

wa l yanquu manshakarahdecreases not him who thanksHim,

wa l yukhayyibu manda`hudisappoints not him whosupplicates Him, wa l yaqaù raj'a manrajhuand cuts not off the hope ofhim who hopes in Him!

allhumma inn ush-hidukaO Allah, I call You to witness wa kaf bika shahdanand You are sufficient Witness

wa ush-hidu jamàmal'ikatikaand I call to witness all Yourangels, wa sukkna samwtikathe inhabitants of Yourheavens,

wa amalata àrshikathe bearers of Your Throne,

wa man baàthta minanbiy'ika wa rusulikaYour prophets and Yourmessengers whom You havesent out,

wa ansha'ta min anfikhalqikaand the various kinds ofcreatures You have broughtforth,

ann ash-hadu annaka antaallhuthat I bear witness that Youare Allah; l ilha ill anta wadakathere is no god but You, Youalone,

l sharka laka wa l àdlaWho have no associate norany equal, wa l khulfa liqawlika wa ltabdlaand Your word has no failing,nor any change;

wa anna muammadanall allhu àlayhi wa lihàbduka wa rasluka

and that Muammad, Allahbless him and his Household,is Your servant and Yourmessenger;

add m ammaltah ilalìbdi

he delivered to the servantsthat with which You charged

him,

wa jhada f allhi àzzawa jalla aqqa aljihdistruggled for Allah as is Hisdue, wa annah bashshara bimhuwa aqqun min

alththawbi

gave the good news of thetruth of reward,

wa andhara bim huwaidqun min alìqbiand warned of the veracity ofpunishment. allhumma thabbitn àldnika m ayaytan

O Allah, make me firm in Yourreligion as long as You keepme alive,

wa l tuzigh qalb ba`daidh hadaytanmake not my heart swerveafter You have guided me,

wa hab l min ladunkaramatanand give me mercy from You, innaka anta alwahhbusurely, You are the All-bestower.

alli àl muammadin wali muammadinBless Muammad and theHousehold of Muammad, wajàln min atbìh washàtihmake me one of his followersand his partisans, washurn f zumratihmuster me in his band,

wa waffiqn li-ad'i farialjumu`tiand give me the success ofaccomplishing the obligatoryobservance of Fridays,

wa m awjabta àlayya fhmin a`tiperforming the acts of

obedience which You havemade incumbent upon me

within it,

wa qasamta li-ahlih minalà'iand receiving the bestowal

which You have apportionedfor its people

f yawmi aljaz'ion the Day of Recompense! innaka anta alàzzualakmuSurely, You are the Almighty,the All-wise!

I seek nearness to Allah, theExalted, through yourHousehold and you

wa antairu uhraka wauhra alaqqi àlyadayka

and I am expecting youradvent and the prevalence ofthe truth at your hands.

wa as'alu allha anyualliya àlmuammadinwa li muammadin

And I beseech Allah to sendblessings to Muammad andthe Household ofMuammad,

wa an yajàlan minaalmuntairna lakaand to include me with thosewho are expecting you, walttbi`na walnnirnalaka àla`d'ika

those who follow you andsupport you against yourenemies,

walmustash-hadna bayna

yadayka f jumlatiawliy'ika

and those who will bemartyred in front of you inthe group of your loyalists.

y mawlya yibaalzzamniO my master, O Patron of theAge! alawtu allhi àlaykaMay Allahs blessings beupon you

wa àlli baytikaand upon your Household. hdhyawmu aljumuàtiToday is Friday,

wa huwa yawmuka

almutawaqqaù fhiuhruka

which is your day on whichyour advent is expected

walfaraju fhi lilmu'minnaàlyadaykato bring about relief to thebelievers at your hands, wa qatlu alkfirnabisayfikaand killing of the disbelieverswith your sword. wa any mawlya fhiayfuka wa jruka

On this day, O my master, Iam your guest and in your

vicinity wa anta ymawlyakarmun min awldi

alkirmi

and you, my master, aregenerous and the descendantof the generous people,

wa ma'mrun biliyfatiwal-ijratiand you are commanded toreceive your guests andneighbors hospitably;

fa-aifn wa ajirnso, receive me as your guestand neighbor. alawtu allhi àlayka

May Allahs blessings beupon you

wa àlahli baytikaalhirnaand upon your Household,the immaculate.Commenting on this Ziyrah, Sayyid Ibn ws says: As I say this form of Ziyrah, I cite this couple of poetic verses

as the best expression of my feeling:

I am your visitor wherever I turn my face And I am your guest wherever I am.

Praise is for Allah Who is not created by

anything nor took any help in creating the

creatures, creation of new things is a proof

of His eternity.

And the way He has pointed out the

helplessness among his creatures, points

out towards His power and the world is in

need of Him proves His eternity. No placeis without His presence and the word

'Where' cannot be addressed to Him.

Neither He has a replica, nor a similarity to

by which He can be praised, neither He is

heedless of anything, so that one could

comprehend the position of the Creator,

different from His attributes and far away

from comprehension, by the intellect, as

those are imaginable things. His is away

from all the misfortunes by HisMagnanimity and Greatness. It is

confident of a good deed I have done.

nor to receive intercession of one of your creation,

in whom I have hope

that I may seek nearness through his intercession

except the intercession of Muhammad and his family

Your blessings be on him and on them

I come to You hoping in the greatness of Your pardon

with which you turned to those who indulged in sins

and the length of their indulgence did not prevent You

from granting them forgiveness

You are my Chief the Oft-returning to blessings

and I am the oft-returning to mistakes

I ask You for the sake of Muhammad and his family, the

Purified

that You forgive me the mighty sins

for none forgives the mighty [sins] except the Mighty

inn lamin alq'ilna bifalikumI am one of them who believe inyour superiority

muqirrun birajàtikumand I acknowledge your Return.

lunkiru lillhi qudratanI never deny the all-powerfulnessof Allah wa lazùmu illmsh'a

allhu

and I do not claim but that whichAllah wills.

subna allhi dh almulkiwalmalaktiGlory be to Allah, Lord of kingdomand realm. yusabbiu allha bi'asm'ihjamù khalqihAl l His creatures glorify Allah byHis Names.

Peace be upon your souls and your
