Q Station is Sydney’s former Quarantine Station, a historical site surrounded by 30 hectares of Sydney Harbour National Park. As a conference venue it is unique, with beautifully refurbished heritage accommodation spread over several different precincts allowing guests to explore and experience this expansive location. It is one of Aus-tralia’s significant heritage and environmental landmarks. Carefully restored and sympathetically adapted, Q Sta-tion now provides contemporary accommodation, conference facilities, restaurants, visitor’s centre and museum with a popular program of tours and activities. Located 20 minutes from the centre of Sydney and 35 minutes from the airport, the property has panoramic views of Sydney Harbour and Manly Cove.

Q Station’s stylish heritage accommodation is a far cry from the austere quarters that greeted the original internees in the 1800s. Today the rooms have been sensitively adapted from the Quarantine Station’s origi-nal accommodation wings, fitted in contemporary style with the comforts of a modern hotel while protecting the heritage aspects of the colonial buildings. Features include queen-sized beds, flat screen televisions, on-demand video, refrigerators, high speed wi-fi internet access and beautifully appointed bathrooms. All rooms feature ceiling fans and heating. Broad timber verandahs provide a peaceful place for guests to relax outdoors. Q Station also has nine cottages, providing accommodation for up to six persons with kitchen, bathroom, separate lounge and three bedrooms with queen beds. Although you may book any type of room, the SCA has a special rate on the Deluxe Rooms - $210 per night (single use) or $240 per night (for two persons) including breakfast. You must call the hotel to book your accommodation as the rooms will be released to the general public on 9 July if not reserved. State that you are attending the Sports and Play Industry Association conference in order to receive this rate. However, as Q Station is part of the Accor ho-tel group, if you are an Accor Plus member you may choose the non-refundable advance purchase rate of $189 per night including breakfast, and discounts of up to 50% are available on food to Accor Plus card holders.
