Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been a busy week at school with pupils and staff excited about starting new learning and

becoming involved with reading WOW starters, research for writing genre and demonstrating place

value knowledge using resources as well as a whole range of PSHE opportunities. Around school there have been mystery footprints, a horrible histories picture gallery, a cooking show, a dragon’s egg and extreme weather!

It is a useful time for everyone to remind themselves of good learning behaviours, class and school

expectations and the fun we can all share when we follow the values, of being ready, respectful and safe.

I know that you will enjoy reading the year group topic letters to find out more about this term. There is lots to look forward to. Afterschool clubs have started but please remember that they end at 4.15pm.

Yours sincerely,

Miss Setchell

Staffing Structure

Our School is organised into years and phases. Please follow the process outlined below if you need advice.

1. In all instances, initial concerns should be addressed to the class teacher, either by phone call, letter or meeting.

2. Mrs Ralif (Reception Unit), Mrs Bestwick (Years 1&2), Miss Harris (Years 3&4), Miss Arrowsmith (Year 6), alongside Mrs Cross and Mrs Stirrop (Year 5), take a lead on Teaching and Learning in School so can be contacted if necessary.

Any further concerns can then be addressed with members of the Senior Leadership Team. We do hope that you will give this system your support so that you can receive the information you need.

Thank you to everyone who gets their child(ren) to school on time. The number of late marks reduced considerably last year mainly due to school opening at 8.45am allowing the 10 minute buffer time before the registers are taken at 8.55am and the effort that parents made. Regular and punctual attendance at school is key to both academic and social development, which in turn improves the life skills of children and young people. Let’s make this year’s attendance and punctuality figures even better! Thank you for your support.

teachers and children and lots of hard work from teachers at school. Throughout the year, each

year group will focus on different topics every term—a Geography, a History and an English based

topic. Every topic will include a WOW starter to engage the children and highlights which be

include either a trip, a visitor or a workshop. At the end of each topic, there will be the opportunity

for you to share your child’s learning at TOPIC CELEBRATIONS, which will inclde a class assembly, a

year group presentation and an exhibition. The dates of these can be found on the Autumn Term
