SCORPIO - Oct 24/Nov 22 Scorpio, others may misinterpret your will-

ingness to offer an opinion as intrusive. Reassure them that you are just offering help, not trying to pry. SAGITTARIUS-Nov 23/Dec 21 Sagittarius, you are tempted to color out-side the lines and break all sorts of boundaries. But at this juncture in time, it may be better to play things a bit more moderately. CAPRICORN-Dec 22/Jan 20 Capricorn, if you are serious about your goals, you have to hunker down this week and draw out a plan. Seeing things in black and white will help you set your course. Q: Whatever happened to the actress who played the coach’s teenage daughter on “Friday Night Lights”? I was watching an old episode and realized I haven’t seen her in anything since the series ended. What a great show it was! — W.B. A: “Friday Night Lights” ended 10 years ago after five seasons on NBC. It starred Kyle Chandler as a high-school football coach and Connie Britton as his wife, the school’s guid-ance counselor. It was based on a non-fiction book of the same name by Buzz Bissinger.

The series was beloved by fans and critics alike and currently is available on the Pea-cock streaming platform. Many of its stars have gone on to other projects, but “FNL” will likely live on in their hearts. As for the character of Julie Taylor, she was played by Aimee Teegarden, who is now 31 years old. After “FNL” concluded, she ap-peared in the film “Scream 4” and then was a regular for one season of “The Ranch,” a sitcom on Netflix that stars Ashton Kutcher and Sam Elliott. Teegarden recently starred in the Hallmark Channel romantic comedy film “A New Year’s Resolution.” You might not recognize her though, as she’s now a brunette instead of a blonde. As for the other “FNL” cast members, Michael B. Jordan, who played Vince Howard, went on to become the biggest star of the bunch with blockbuster films like “Black Panther,” “Creed” and “Creed II.” Britton starred in two hit shows, “Nashville” and “9-1-1,” while you can see Chandler on the big screen in the upcoming “Godzilla vs.

Kong.” ***

Q: I was watching the Golden Globe Awards recently and noticed there had been a movie about the singer Billie Holl-iday. Was it in theaters or on TV? Who is the actress who played Billie? — A.A. A: “The United States vs. Billie Holiday” was originally meant for the big screen, but like most films in 2020, it has made its way to the homes of moviegoers. The film was sold to the streaming service Hulu and was released in February. Andra Day won a Golden Globe for her portrayal, which was her first big starring role. She’s best known for her hit single “Rise Up,” which, along with her album, was nominated for a Grammy in 2016. Her future looks bright whether she continues in film or sticks with vocals.

*** Q: Whatever happened to the TV show “Supergirl?” Is it coming back, or did it get canceled? — B.H. A: “Supergirl,” starring Melissa Benoist, will return for its final season on the CW network on Tuesday, March 30, at 9 p.m. ET. “Super-man & Lois” will be going on a brief hiatus during that time and will return on May 18. “Supergirl” will return again later this sum-mer with its final episodes. When news of its ending broke last year, Benoist stated of her heroic character, “She’s taught me strength I didn’t know I had ... and I’m forever grate-ful.”

*** Q: Can you please tell me if there will be more episodes of “Sanctuary” starring Matthew Modine? I loved the first season of the series and the cliffhanger ending. — A.S.

A: I’ve always believed that if a season ends in a jaw-dropping cliffhanger, that must mean that the producers of the show are pretty con-

fident it will live to tell another tale. I really hope this theory holds true for “Sanctuary,” but so far nothing official has been an-nounced by Sundance NOW. Check out its website (sundancenow.com) for updates, though, and fingers crossed you’ll get your wish. For those who haven’t seen it, “Sanctuary,” which premiered last April, is a psychologi-cal thriller that asks: “What could be worse than being imprisoned in a locked-down clinic where nothing is as it seems and no-body believes you are who you say you are? Who would you become in order to sur-vive?” It stars Swedish actress Josefin Asplund (“Vikings,” “The Girl with the Dragon Tat-too”) as Helena “Hel” and Matthew Modine as “Dr. Fisher.” (Don’t confuse Sundance NOW’s “Sanctuary” with the SyFy channel series of the same name that ran from 2008-11). You also can check out Modine in “Opera-tion Varsity Blues: The College Admissions Scandal” on Netflix, where he plays Rick Singer, the guy who helped wealthy parents buy their kids’ way into prestigious colleges. It’s a documentary-style film with reenact-ments by actors such as Modine.

*** Q: Is “Outlander” coming back soon for another season? I just started reading the books, too. I love the show so much. — T.P. A: Fortunately, I was able to find an official answer regarding this production, as the Starz network recently announced that “Out-lander” is currently filming its sixth season and that a seventh season will definitely fol-low. If you want to read ahead with the books on which the series is based, the sixth season will follow the plot of Diana Gabladon’s novel “A Breath of Snow and Ashes,” while the yet-to-be-filmed seventh installment will be based on her book “Echo in the Bone.” Expect new episodes of “Outlander” to begin airing on Starz in late 2021, if not sooner. *** Q: Whatever happened to Catherine Bell, who starred on “JAG” years ago? — V.A. A: It’s hard to believe it’s been almost 25 years since the hit military legal drama “JAG” premiered on NBC. It starred David James Elliott and Catherine Bell, and lasted for 10 seasons. The actors and their “JAG” characters reunited not long ago on “NCIS: Los Angeles.” We found out that the Mac and Harm unfortunately weren’t together living their happily ever after, but this little glimpse into their lives has fans speculating if “JAG” might be getting a reboot.

HOLLYWOOD — Kevin Hart’s per-sonal shopper, 29-year-old Dylan Jason Syer, was indicted in New York by the Queen’s County Grand Jury for grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen properties, identity theft and a scheme to defraud. Hart hired Syer to be his per-sonal shopper from October 2017 until February 2019. During that time Syer al-legedly used Hart’s credit cards to charge more than $1 million! Syer also allegedly used legitimate purchases to gain access to Hart’s credit cards so he could charge $923,000 and purchase $240,000 worth of jewelry, art and other collectibles. These included five Patek Phillipe watches (worth more than $400,000), a Sam Friedman painting, at least 16 Bear-brick collectible dolls, five KAWS col-lectible dolls and two Louis Vuitton Keepall Bandolier bags. When police ar-rested Syer, they seized more than $250,000 in cash and goods. If he’s found guilty on all counts, Syer could spend the next five years in prison. Who’s got your credit card numbers?

*** “Downton Abbey’s” Hugh Bonneville, at 57, is not slowing down. In addition to “Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey,” re-leased on Netflix in November, he’s got “To Olivia,” in which he plays “Willy Wonka” and “James and the Giant Peach” author Roald Dahl (already in theaters in Britain). Bonneville also re-vealed he’s returning with the original cast to film “Downton Abbey 2” (the original cost less than $20 million and grossed $193 million) and another se-quel, “Paddington 3.” The 2014 original cost $55 million and grossed $283 mil-lion, while “Paddington 2” in 2017 cost under $20 million and grossed $228 mil-lion. With those kinds of grosses, it was inevitable that sequels would follow.

*** We knew when “Captain Marvel” star-ring Brie Larson (2015 Best Actress Oscar winner for “Room”) grossed $1.13 billion, that a sequel was coming. Now set for Nov. 11, 2022, the first female Captain Marvel will have a new oppo-nent, played by Zawe Aston, who previ-ously appeared in “Greta” (2019) and Netflix’s “Velvet Buzzsaw,” starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Rene Russo. Aston also has a recurring role in season four of

“The Handmaiden’s Tale.” ***

It was bound to happen. They’re going to remake “The Wizard of Oz.” The last “Oz” film came from Disney and was “Oz the Great and Powerful” (2013). It starred James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams and Zach Braff, and cost $215 million and grossed $493 million. This one will be produced by Temple Hill and New Line, and it will be directed by Nicole Kassell (“The Woodsman,” “Watchman” and “Westworld). They haven’t said much about it, except that it won’t be a musical. Going “Over the Rainbow” and not find-ing any singing Munchkins is going to make it harder to believe that “We’re not in Kansas anymore!”

HOLLYWOOD — The name of the game is “tried in the court of public opin-ion.” I watched part one of the four-part HBO film “Allen v. Farrow,” and learned it’s not a court case but a documentary that his supporters say defames Allen. Mia Farrow and Woody Allen began their intimate relationship in 1980, although

they never lived together. In 1992 Mia found nude photos of her adopted daugh-ter (with Andre Previn), Soon-Yi, taken by Allen. Mia and Woody’s intimate re-lationship actually ended with her son, Ronan Farrow’s, birth. It may have been the end of their intimate relationship, but they still somehow made films together, 13 in all. Coinciden-tally, when Allen publicly professed his love for Soon-Yi (he was 56 and she was 21), it also was when the sexual abuse charges began against him. In 1993, Jus-tice Elliott Wilk rejected allegations of any sexual abuse. The New York Child Welfare Agency’s 14-month investiga-tion concluded there was no credible ev-idence of abuse. In 2014, when Allen was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award, Mia and Ronan Farrow posted disparaging re-marks about him on Twitter. In 2014, Mia’s daughter, Dylan Farrow, allowed The New York Times to publish excerpts from a letter restating allegations against Allen and calling out fellow actors who worked in his films. Allen, also in The New York Times, denied ever molesting Dylan. In 2018, Moses Farrow published a personal blog post, “A Son Speaks Out,” supporting Allen and disputing Dylan’s story. Many insiders say they’ve seen enough and won’t watch the rest. It’s another case of no real proof, yet Allen, who has maintained his innocence throughout, is still being vilified. Is Mia Farrow acting like a woman scorned? Can Woody Allen keep making films or will actors refuse to work with him ... that’s another story entirely! *** Two other directors have faced similar circumstances. Roman Polanski, a fugi-tive in the U.S. since he was 43 because of a 1997 statutory rape case, admits that he had “unlawful sexual intercourse” with 13-year-old Samantha Geimer (her mother consented). Polanski bemoans: “I pleaded guilty, I went to jail. I was locked up for a year, in Zurich, awaiting extra-dition, I did five times more than I was promised to do.” He continues to direct films and win awards in Europe. A third director, Brett Ratner (the “Rush Hour” film series and “X-Men: The Last Stand”), accused of sexual misconduct by Olivia Munn and six other women, has announced he’ll direct a biopic about the R&B duo Milli Vanilli (stripped of their Grammy for lip-syncing). “Times Up” condemns him and says he shouldn’t be granted a comeback, ever. Stay tuned!

“Beware the Ides of March.” Or so says the soothsayer to Julius Caesar. The mid-March date was known in ancient Rome as a time for settling debts, and in William Shakespeare’s tragedy, it’s a clear warning of the deadly coming events for Caesar — a knifing courtesy of his friends in the Senate. Which is why it makes me think of all the great movies featuring assassins. Here are eight — some funny, some cult fa-vorites, but every one guaranteed to slay.

“Point of No Return” — A robbery perpetrated by a strung-out junkie goes wrong and she’s given a last-ditch sec-ond chance: instead of a death sentence, train to be an elite assassin under the control of the government. Stars Bridget Fonda as Maggie, the would-be assas-sin, and Gabriel Byrne as her handler.

“Grosse Pointe Blank” — In a romp that mixes comedy, romance and mur-der-mayhem, John Cusack stars as Mar-

tin Blank, a neurotic assassin having a rough patch. He travels home to Michi-gan for his 10-year high-school reunion, reuniting with the girl he stood up for prom (Minnie Driver) and chased by a rival killer (Dan Ackroyd).

“In the Line of Fire” — A cat and mouse featuring Secret Service agent Frank Horrigan (Clint Eastwood) and rogue CIA assassin “Booth” (John Malkovich). Horrigan is the last living

agent who served on Kennedy’s detail in Dallas, and Booth taunts Horrigan with this fact all while threatening to as-sassinate the current president.

“The Accountant” — An autistic young boy with a dysfunctional family and extraordinary math abilities (Ben Affleck) becomes a forensic accountant by day and cold-blooded killer by night. Dual story lines trace his history with an

FBI agent and his current assignment un-covering accounting shenanigans at a med-ical prothesis company.

“No Country for Old Men” — The Coen Brothers tackle the neo-crime Western genre when a Texas hunter (Josh Brolin) claims the remains of a desert drug deal gone awry. No crime is secret, and soon hit-man Anton Chigurh (Javier Bardem) is dis-patched to retrieve the money — by any means necessary.

“The Day of the Jackal” — The 1973 classic follows a paramilitary group’s intent to assassinate French President Charles de Gaulle. They eventually resort to profes-sional assistance in the form of The Jackal, a hit man of infamy, who settles down to business as his identity is slowly uncovered by a Paris detective.

“Collateral” — Jamie Foxx plays a cab driver who takes one last high-dollar fare: a man (Tom Cruise) who offers him $600 to make a series of stops. Catch is, the fare is a hit man wiping out witness after witness.

“Pulp Fiction” — Any discussion of movie assassins would not be complete without cult favorites Vincent Vega (John Travolta) and Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson), from director Quentin Tarantino’s breakout film. The philosophical pair stand out for their effortless cool and eminent quotability.

WOLFGANG PUCK’S KITCHEN

Indulge yourselves with a luxurious yet light dessert

By Wolfgang Puck So many luxurious yet lean desserts start

with fresh fruit, which provides great sources of flavor while also being high in fiber, great sources of vitamins, and vir-tually fat-free; and the natural sweetness of fruit doesn’t jolt your system with as much sugar as you’ll find in processed treats.

With that in mind, I think souffles make a perfect dessert. My recipe for spectacu-lar-looking, delicious Raspberry Souffles amazingly contains only 127 calories per serving, with just 12 percent of those from fat. And if you sprinkle in just a small amount of semisweet chocolate chips, you’ll add only 25 more calories (in-cluding 14 fat calo-ries) per serving - which still works out to a modest 19 per-cent of calories from fat.

As you’ll note, the recipe here actually yields four servings, because it becomes difficult to whip the egg whites properly if you make fewer por-tions. That doesn’t create any problems, really, because I know that at least some of you will be making this for the entire family. If the dessert is just for two, however, you can loosely cover a pair of the uncooked souf-fles by inverting large bowls over them and refrigerating them overnight, to bake the next day.

RASPBERRY AND CHOCOLATE CHIP SOUFFLÉS WITH FRESH

RASPBERRY SAUCE Makes 4 souffles

RASPBERRY SOUFFLÉS: 1-1/2 cups (375 ml) fresh raspberries 3 tablespoons sugar, plus 1/2 tablespoon for coating ramekins 3/4 teaspoon fresh lemon juice 1/8 teaspoon balsamic vinegar 1/2 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened 2 large cage-free egg whites, at room

temperature Pinch of cream of tartar 2 tablespoons semisweet chocolate

chips RASPBERRY SAUCE:

1 cup (250 ml) fresh raspberries 2 tablespoons sugar 1/4 teaspoon fresh lemon juice For the Raspberry Souffles, in a small

saucepan combine half of the raspberries, 1 tablespoon of the sugar, the lemon juice and the vinegar. Bring to a boil over

medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the mixture has a jam-like consis-tency, about 4 minutes. Strain through a fine-meshed sieve over a heatproof bowl, pressing it through with a rubber spatula. Discard the solids from the sieve. Set aside to cool to room temperature.

Measure out 1/4 cup (60 ml) of this mix-ture and transfer to a large bowl, leaving the rest in the pan. Set aside.

Position a rack in the lowest level of the oven. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. (220 degrees C).

With the butter, coat the insides of four 1/2-cup (125-ml) ramekins. Lightly dust with the 1/2 tablespoon sugar. Place the ramekins on a baking tray.

Divide half of the remaining raspberries for the souffles among the ramekins. Drizzle the raspberry sauce left in the pan evenly over the raspberries in the

ramekins. Using a stand

mixer with the wire whip, or a clean mix-ing bowl with a hand mixer, beat the egg whites at low speed until foamy, about 1 minute. Add the cream of tartar and continue beating 1 minute longer. In-crease the speed to medium and, while beating, slowly

sprinkle in the remaining 2 tablespoons sugar. Continue beating until the whites form firm peaks that stand up when the beaters are lifted out.

With a wire whisk, gently stir about a third of the egg whites into the reserved 1/4 cup (60 ml) of raspberry sauce until combined. Then, with the whisk, fold in the remaining egg whites. Sprinkle in the chocolate chips and gently fold them in with a rubber spatula. Fold in the remain-ing reserved whole raspberries.

Spoon the egg white mixture into the prepared ramekins, mounding it in peaks. Bake until well puffed and dark golden, 7 to 10 minutes.

While the souffles are baking, make the Raspberry Sauce. In a small, nonreactive saucepan, combine the raspberries, sugar and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the berries have given up their juices, about 3 minutes. Bring to a boil and continue cooking, stir-ring frequently, until syrupy, about 2 min-utes longer. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve over a heatproof bowl, pressing with a rubber spatula and discarding the solids.

As soon as the souffles are done, trans-fer each ramekin to individual plates and serve immediately. At the table, use a spoon to break open the top of the souffle, spooning the sauce inside.

Outdoor Dining Permits Available in Bayonne

In order to support the local economy, Mayor Jimmy Davis and the Bayonne City Council have announced that, beginning April 1, 2021, local food and/or beverage establishments may be able to establish temporary outdoor seating with the issuance of a temporary use permit. These permits may allow food and/or bever-age establishments to expand the areas avail-able for seating on a cases by case basis. These temporary use permits were approved for most establishments last year through an active mercantile license from the City of Bay-onne. If a food and/or beverage establishment received approval in 2020 for temporary out-door dining, a new application is not required if the proposed use remains the same. How-ever, proof of 2021 insurance must be pro-vided. If the business proposal has changed, a new application will be required. Temporary outdoor dining permits allow op-

eration from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at A.B.C.-licensed facilities and normal business

hours for non-A.B.C.-li-censed facilities. Food and/or beverage es-

tablishments interested in continuing their temporary outdoor dining use permit in the same manner as the 2020 approval must sign a certification and mail or place it in the drop box by the outside of City Hall to the attention of Room #13- Zoning Office. There is no fee to continue the temporary outdoor dining use for qualifying food and/or beverage establish-ments. A food and/or beverage establishment that

did not apply previously or receive approval for outdoor dining must submit a new applica-tion packet along with proof of insurance cov-erage. There is no fee for new applications or the continuation certification. For questions, please contact Tracey Tuohy

in the Zoning Office at 201-858-6110 or Michele O’Reilly in the Health Department at 201-858-6355.

Place a number in the empty boxes in such a way that each row across, each

column down and each small 9-box square contains

all of the numbers from one to nine.
