Over the past couple of weeks we have welcomed six
new students to Franklin. It is great to see they are all
settling into their new school so well.
CAPTAIN and PREFECT NOMINATIONS Year five student are excited this week to be nominating for Captains and Prefects for the 2015 school year. The criteria
for these positions have been communicated to the Year 5
students as they prepare their nomination this week. If we exceed 10 boy and 10 girl nominations a cull will be held
by Year 5 students next Thursday. The successful
candidates will then present their election speeches to the school on Thursday 27
th on November in the Miles Franklin
Hall.
OUTSTANDING STUDENTS For 2014 Please collect 3 of your Super Student certificates along
with last year’s Attainment Certificate which states the
2013 Super Student status for recognition as an Outstanding Student for 2014.
BEACH TO BUSH On Wednesday ‘Beach to Bush’ will be visiting Franklin.
The program promotes awareness for safety at the beach,
reading signs at the beach, sun protection and water awareness at the beach. This is a great program and all
classes will be involved with the presentation on
Wednesday morning.

OUTSTANDING STUDENT MEDALS
As part of Franklin’s welfare system a student may
become an OUTSTANDING STUDENT. To do this a
student needs to have received:
Four (4) Super Student certificates in either 2009,
2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and finishing in 2014;
Present the 4 certificates to your class teacher by
Friday 22 November to receive an
OUTSTANDING STUDENT MEDAL at our
Presentation day;
NB students in K, Yr 1 and Yr 2 are ineligible to
receive an Outstanding Student Medal as they will have received insufficient certificates;
Only one Outstanding Student Medal is presented to
a student during their primary education.
INTENSIVE SWIMMING PROGRAM

Lessons start Monday 24 Nov, and go for 2 weeks.

Cost $45 or $15 season ticket Please ensure your child comes prepared for
swimming each day – swimmers, towel and
sunscreen. Parents should not assume that swimming will
be called off because of inclement weather.
Staffing arrangements don’t allow for students to remain at the pool after lessons.
Spending at the kiosk is limited to each Friday.
