WEEKLY REFLECTION, CYCLE C,

THIRD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

We all have our role to play in the community - both the faith community and the secular one. Some will be “on stage” and everyone will know who they are and what they are doing. However, most of us will be “back stage” working behind the scenes. Anyone who has worked on a theatre production will tell you that those working back stage are every bit as important as the actors on stage. In fact without the work and support that back stage hands give, the actors could not put on the play. When we do our part, each of us supports and enables others to do their part. We need to appreciate one another and value their contri-bution to the community. Do you take time to let people know how much you appreciate what they do?

If one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; If one member is honored, all the members share its joy.

ST. THOMAS AQUINAS JANUARY 28TH

Saint Thomas Aquinas is well known for his writings, especially the "Summa Theologica." But he was far more than a philosopher/theologian. He was a devout man who wrote beautiful pray-ers and hymns. Perhaps the best known is the "Pange Lingua." He truly was able to combine human reason and revelation and show the fruits of the union.
