ST. PETER’S RELIGIOUS EDUCATION MISSION
We believe our role as religious educators is to assist parents, first and foremost, in help-ing their children develop a close personal relationship with Our Lord, the Church, and the community of St. Peter’s Catholic Parish. Our goal is to nurture and enhance a parent’s modeling and example of Christ’s message of forgiveness, compassion, and mercy through prayer, Church teaching, and a devotion to the Divine presence in the Eucharist. Our commitment to the parents is to provide every tool necessary for our young people to grow in their journey of faith as lifelong learners and devoted followers of Jesus Christ through a deeper understanding of the Church’s mor-al values and teachings.

WEEKLY REFLECTION, CYCLE C,
FOURTH SUNDAY OF ADVENT
We often overlook the difficult position Mary was in. True, she was blessed by God; but, that blessing also created practical problems for her. She was an “unwed mother” which was unacceptable in her soci-ety. However, instead of focusing on her own problems, she goes to be with Elizabeth and help her. We all have our own problems. The question is do we let those problems keep us from seeing and re-sponding to the problems of others?
Take care of this vine, and protect what your right hand has planted.
—Psalm 80:14b-15

FOURTH DAY OF ADVENT Dear Jesus, may the light of your love always shine in our hearts. As Christmas draws closer, we marvel at your great love for us. Let your love transform every aspect of our lives and touch everyone we encoun-ter. Our hearts are open to you, Jesus.

ADVENT PRAYER FOR FAMILIES
Heavenly Father, your son, Jesus, is your greatest gift to us, a great sign of your love. Guide us as we strive to walk in that love together as a family this Advent. As we prepare our hearts for Christmas, bring us closer to each other and to your son. Give us the grace and strength we need every day. Help us to always trust in you. Come, Lord Jesus, lead all peo-ple closer to you. Come and dispel the darkness of our world with the light of your love.
—Amen.
