Presentation Overview

Proven implementation strategies, both technical and pedagogical, for portfolios at the program, college, and university level to help with four targets:

1) making students aware of what they should learn

2) capturing learning over time

3) establishing a sense of community

4) sharing models for new students as they begin their course of study

Examples of these strategies in action at multiple institutions

Implementing At Your Institution

Discuss guiding questions:

– What do you hope to enhance through the use of portfolios in your area of responsibility?

– What learning outcomes do you hope to see students displaying on portfolio?

– What do you hope to see in your gallery after one year?
