Sture MyrmellPresident, Carnival Australia

Sture Myrmell holds the dual roles of President of P&O Cruises Australia and President of Carnival Australia, which is part of the world’s largest leisure company, Carnival Corporation & plc.

Sture is a member of the global leadership team at Carnival Corporation & plc and is involved in the development of strategy, policy and operational practices across the business. He has an innate knowledge of the cruise industry having held key positions across four Carnival Corporation & plc brands during his more than 20 years with the company, including working onboard as well as direct operational responsibility in shore side roles.

Prior to Carnival Australia, Sture spent 15 years with Princess Cruises in California and Cunard Line and Seabourn in Florida, covering positions in Food & Beverage, Hotel Operation, Newbuild and Product Development.

Susan BonnerVP and Managing Director, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Aus and NZ

Susan Bonner was appointed VP and Managing Director of the Australian and New Zealand operations of Royal Caribbean International in June 2018. Bonner leads a team of 70 employees and oversees all commercial and operational activities in Australia and New Zealand for the company’s three cruise brands: Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises.

Bonner has been with Royal Caribbean International since 2008. Prior to her current position as VP and Managing Director, Bonner was the Vice President of Revenue Management and Onboard Revenue for modern luxury cruise line Celebrity Cruises.

Bonner has over 15 years of experience in the cruise industry, including numerous leadership roles. She previously led the revenue management and onboard revenue performance of sister brand Royal Caribbean during the line’s major introduction of the widely acclaimed ship Quantum of the Seas in 2014. She was also involved in the introduction of the brand’s industry-changing Solstice Class ships and revitalisation of its Millennium class.

Bonner pursued her higher education as she studied Marketing at the prestigious Tulane University in New Orleans.

Timothy LittleyDirector Deployment & Itinerary Planning, Seabourn Cruise Line

Timothy has the responsibility for research, design, development and implementation of the deployments and itineraries for the Seabourn fleet of ultra-luxury and expedition vessels. Born in the Netherlands and of British and U.S. nationalities, Timothy graduated from the Nautical Academy of Amsterdam with two Bachelor degrees in science and engineering.

Timothy began his career serving both as a navigational and engineering officer with various shipping companies before joining Holland America Line as a navigational officer in 1999. As such, he served on many of Holland America Line’s vessels as he rose through the ranks. In 2005, Timothy returned to terra firma as a member of Holland America Line’s corporate Deployment & Itinerary Planning team.

In 2010 Timothy joined Seabourn Cruise Line in Miami and subsequently transitioned to the new management team in Seattle. When not in the office or exploring amazing cruise ports and destinations around the world, Timothy enjoys catamaran sailing, hiking, fishing and the great outdoors.

Mike DrakeDirector, Marine Operations - DPA , P&O Cruises Australia

Mike Drake is a Master Mariner with 33 years’ experience in the cruise industry, 20 of these in the Australasian region. As head of Marine Operations & Designated Person Ashore (DPA) for P&O Cruises, his responsibilities of the role include navigational safety, bridge operations and itinerary & port approval.

The role of Designated Person Ashore requires strong engagement with all regulatory bodies concerned with marine safety; AMSA, UK Marine & Coastguard Agency, Australian Hydrographic Service, ATSB, Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority and various state regulators around Australia such as WA Department of Transport, Harbour Masters and Pilots etc.

The “challenge of access” has been an impediment to destination growth in the Oceania region including Australia. Over the years Mike has worked with many stakeholders to overcome these challenges to ensure safe access to ports & destinations for the cruise industry.

Mike GallacherCEO, Ports Australia

Following an intensive and varied 16 year career as a Police Officer, Mike Gallacher was appointed to the NSW Legislative Council in 1996. He has performed the Shadow Ministerial role across a variety of portfolios including Ports, Industrial Relations, Transport and Police. Winning government in 2011, Mike was appointed Minister for Police and Emergency Services, Minister for the Hunter and later the further role of Minister for Industrial Relations.

Mike is widely recognised for his robust approach to policy development and his preparedness to strongly advocate the need for reform. As Minister he led on behalf of Government the public debate on issues such as measures to reduce alcohol related violence, rampant gang/gun related crime and introduced initiatives to change driver behavior.

Leaving Parliament in 2017 he has now taken the role as CEO of Ports Australia, the peak industry body for the Ports industry. Mike is already well underway in lifting the awareness of the Port sector and the important role it plays in Australia’s future.
