LAwREncE (0-4, 0-1) SERIES SnaPSHOT—Hobart and St. Lawrence will meet for the 81st me today with the Statesmen leading the all-me series 42-36-2. Hobart won the first contest between the long-me rivals 10-0 in 1901. The Statesmen have won 16 consecuve showdowns with the Saints, including last season’s 56-21 victory. WHEn LaST WE MET—Last season, Hobart produced 506 yards of total offense, including a season-high 251 yards on the ground, en route to a 56-21 Liberty League win over St. Law- rence. The Statesmen dominated me of possession, holding on to the ball for 36 minutes, 16 seconds, while converng on 11 of 17 third downs. Hobart scored two touchdowns in each of the first two quarters to race out to a 28-0 halſtime lead. THE STREak—Hobart has won 16 consecuve games against St. Lawrence, the longest ac- ve winning streak by the Statesmen over a single opponent. Hobart has scored an average of 32.6 points per game during the streak, while allowing just 10.8. aLMOST THE MOST—Hobart has scored 1,362 points in the 80 previous meengs against St. Lawrence. The only opponent the Statesmen have scored more against is Rochester (1,363) and Hobart has played the Yellowjackets 100 mes. On THE fLIP SIDE—St. Lawrence has scored 1,383 points in the series with Hobart. Only two opponents have tallied more points against the Statesmen, Union (1,620 in 91 gms) and Rochester (1,404 in 100 gms). aBOuT LaST WEEk—Hobart improved to 3-0 with a 27-14 win over Susquehanna. The Statesmen led 20-0 at halſtime and were never seriously challenged in the second half. Ho- bart scored twice in the first quarter on short drives set up by Crusader fumbles. Senior run- ning back ANTHONY HOBAICA (80 yds rush, 24 rec) put the first points on the board with a 35-yard scamper, the Statesmen’s longest scoring play of the season. Sophomore running back ANDREW MARLIER (97 rush, 3 rec) punched it in from 3-yards out for the second score. Hobaica’s second TD, a 31-yard recepon, gave Hobart its lead going into the break. TOP TaCkLER—For the third game in a row, senior linebacker JUSTIN HAGER led Hobart in tackles, producing 10 stops against Susquehanna. He also recorded his first sack of the sea- son, forced and recovered a fumble, and broke up a pass. The effort earned Hager his second consecuve Liberty League Defensive Performer of the Week award. THIS JuST-In—Speaking of JUSTIN HAGER, he leads the Liberty League and ranks fourth in the naon in tackles per game (14.0). With 42 tackles through three games, he’s on pace to log 126 tackles this season. That’s 12 more than he recorded last season and only three shy of the season record set by JESSE TRULEY ’96 in 1995. TOP PICk—Like his jersey number, DRAKE WOODARD is No. 1 in the Liberty League in intercepons. He is also ed for third in the naon in that category (1.0/g). Woodard had an intercepon in the season opener against Dickinson and two the following week at Carnegie Mellon.
