The beginning of the loop is in the cultivation area. This is where the central production of the food takes place.

The next step in the chain is the storage and the processing of the food.

After processing, the food will be transported to the inhabitants.

The inhabitants will buy their food in supermarkets.

The last steps in the food chain are consumption and waste, and this will close the circle.

Give people the choice to what amount food production will be a part of their life.

GRID STRUCTUREThe grid structure deliveres the fl exibility to easily make changes in the layers of the plan.

The grid with squares of 130 m by 130 meter gives the oppertunity to offer variation inside neighbourhoods with the same density.

The city must be fl exible. In the future, adjustments can be made when necessary.

ROADS ABOVE GROUNDThe grid makes it easy to connect al the housing areas and farm in the green areas together.

GREEN & WATER STRUCTUREThe water system is well connected to the existing polder landscape structure by the grid. Water can be drained easily to the surrounding landscape.

Because the green axis follow the grid, it becomes a closed network. Public functions and residential areas are well connected by green because of this.

The green axis always leads you to the green outdoor areas (green fi ngers).

Mixed use and multiple land use in the city makes the people aware of food production and makes an effi cient transport system possible.
