What is a “Foldable Note”? Ø A foldable note is a three dimensional graphic organizer styled page of info in a student’s notebook
Ø Can take on a variety of forms, complexities and detail
Ø They “reinvent” the traditional style of writing notes
Foldable Notes Ø Designed to further engage students in the mapping of their math learning
Ø Can be used effectively to present new information and/or to summarize content
Ø Might just reinvigorate your practice J
“Foldable Notes” are NOT… Ø …a time Filler for class time
Ø …guaranteed to raise your test scores or make every kid understand
Ø …limited to just basic content

How does one “make” a Foldable Note? Here’s what you need: Ø Source of inspiration - Colleague, friend, mentor - Pintrest, Social Networking, etc.
Ø Creativity Willingness (courage?) to take a risk
The basic steps: 1) Brainstorm the “need to know info”? 2) How can that info be clearly mapped, organized, engaging for kids to create?! 3) Is it interactive?
Your turn! Your task: Create foldable note that could be used as an instructional tool for your students.
