Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is. . .• A pathway to engineering- 6 unit high school program.• An extension of our current computer assisted drafting
course.• A curriculum emphasizing problem-solving skills.• Taught in conjunction with math and science courses.• A program that offers dual enrollment courses with end of
course assessments.• An opportunity to provide staff development to teachers
and guidance counselors each year.• Offered in 21 school divisions in the state of Virginia.

Student achievement rises even more when students are required to complete a challenging academic core and a rigorous academic or career/technical concentration of at least four credits.
