The background is not a plain colour which makes the magazine look exciting and stand out against other magazines.The masthead stands out because of its bold white colour. The first part of the title is in blue to tie in the masthead with the colour scheme making it consistent.The image overlaps the magazine title showing that the magazine is well established. This means people are already aware of the name of the magazine so the fact that some letters are covered doesnt effect the audience knowing the name of the magazine.The background goes with the sci-fie look of the background. Blue and white is the colour scheme and have connotations of pure, fantasise and dreamy. The blue is the main iconic colour from the Avatar film.The magazine uses mainly Serif font giving a modern style to the magazineGrey is used to outline the other secondary articles to ensure its stands out from the background,The name of the film is in the middle and relates to the main image. The white front makes that title of the film stand out to make it clear to the audiences. The character is making direct eye contact with the audience making it feel personal and drawl the reader in. Even without the image the audience is able to tell the genre of the film though the colours used the shade of colours and the unique background.A mid-shot is used to show all the all the props/accessories which the reader will recognise when they watch the film. From this image the audience can start to imagine what the film may be about and the type of things they may see.

2. Empire is another mainstream film magazine. Each letter making up the title has a vibrant green outline highlighting the title and making it stand out. The picture used does not give any a lot about the storyline but uses an iconic character (the joker) to attract the attention of the audience. When this magazine was realised the film was not coming out around the same time Im aware of this because the date of when the film is coming out was not put on the magazine instead it just says summer Clint makes our day is highlighted in green keeping with the colour scheme and the shite font makes it stand out from the other text.The capital Sans-serif front makes it more easier for reading which allows it to appeal to all readers. The colour of the magazine title is unique for this issue because normally its a red colour showing the importance of the film. The image is at the back of the title making the title stand out and giving a 3D effect with the way the models head is positioned.Above the masthead says 2 covers to collect which encourages who are a fan of the film to buy the magazine to collect the covers.The black coloured masthead is in capitals which makes the magazine title stand out. Empire is one of the most iconic magazines published in the film industry which shows the film most have potential to do very well. The green, white and black colour scheme is a unique colour scheme just for this issues and relates to the genre of the film the dark night A lot of time has gone into the makeup for the model used for the front cover this is important because its a reflection of the film and how characters may look. The dark makeup around the eyes and the eye contact made by the model adds to the feel and look of the magazine and film.The magazine is very dark to reflect the film and uses iconic colours which relates to the characters being portrayed on the magazine which is the joker. 3. Filmmaker is an independent specialized magazine. The title is in front of the image making it standout which may be because the magazine isnt as wellknown. The masthead is very simple but ionic because of its unique style. Im not sure as to her the main image is of but she looks very simple and natural looking with minimal to no makeup on and her hair is tied back but still has a messy look to it. It looks like the lighting is coming from the side hitting the right side which is mainly showed because of the position of her head. She is also making direct contact with the audience giving a personal feel. The image used shows that the magazine is targeted at a specific type of audience. Overall you can tell that the magazine has a lower budget which suggest to the audience that the magazine concentrates ore on budgeted films.The magazine of independent film is put under the title to express that its not as mainstream which may appeal to certain people.The plain background makes all the information on the page standout and also the image. The plain and simplistic style of the magazine is reflected throughout and gives a indie style. The magazine also does not look like it will have a gloss finish which adds to the feel and look of the magazine.The use of different colour highlights key information, adds some excitement to the page and shows the differences between the many articles.
