NOTED EXPERIENCE Americorps/The Student Conservation Association (SCA) Cultural Resources Diversity Internship Program, Crow Agency, MT SCA Intern at The National Park Service at Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument, June-August 2013 Researched and wrote a history of the battlefield markers related to the 1876 Battle of the Little Bighorn and Custer’s Last Stand. Surveyed over 250 battlefield markers for a digital catalogue and condition assessment. Used tablet technology to catalogue each marker with a front and back photograph using a excel file denoting condition, marker wording, and size. Worked directly under the Chief of Resource Management. The Selu Project: Unearthing LaGrange College's Past, LaGrange College, LaGrange, GA Project Leader, 2007-2009 Supervised the cleaning and cataloging of over 500 artifacts in the archeological dig at LaGrange College that excavated artifacts that dated back to the 1900s. Cleaned, as well as preserved, artifacts using different methods including Reverse Electrolysis. Recorded and interpreted artifacts by conducting research, using reference materials and interviewing alumnus of the college.

CATALOGING/MUSEUM STUDIES EXPERIENCE The Evanston History Center (The Charles Gates Dawes House), Evanston, IL Internship, 2012-2013

• Designed and created exhibitions for the Save-An-Artifact campaign using local artifacts within the museums collection and researching local history to help tell the story of each of the pieces on display.

• Performed docent duties, which included leading tours and handling money for entrance fees. • Worked with the Director of Development to raise funds for the annual House Walk Tour of

• Drafted measured drawings of the Western Springs Water Tower, now the Western Springs Historical Society, which are now apart of the Library of Congress in Washington D.C.

• Created measured drawings of a beach house to be demolished on the Indiana Sand Dunes, which are now apart of the Library of Congress in Washington D.C.

Historic Structures Report, Spring 2011 • Participated in building a historic structures report for The Chicago Defender Building. • Responsibilities included surveying the types of windows, documenting with photos and labeled

drawings, and making recommendations for window replacement if necessary. Preservation Planning Survey, Fall 2012

• Surveyed 30 residential buildings for the I-290 Corridor survey commissioned by the village of Oak Park, IL historic preservation department.

• Surveyed 50 commercial buildings in the Recent Past Survey commissioned by Landmarks Illinois in Brookfield, IL a suburb of Chicago.

• Documented style, materials, and significance of structures in a reconnaissance survey which included document forms and photos.

• Worked as the student project leader to reformat scanned pamphlets from the late 1800s through the mid 1900s into PDFs so that they could be added to the online research database archive.org. Each pamphlet had to have color correction and resizing before being turned into a PDF. Each folder of PDFs was then entered into an excel database to keep tract of the folders and their current stage of processing. As student leader I had to train other students on how to reformat the scanned pamphlet .jpegs and turn them in to PDFs.
