UT Engineering Day

December Events:• Saturday, December 3rd and 10th , 2011, from 9 a.m. to

1:00 p.m. SolidWorks training at Pellissippi State Community College.

– Drew Murray, Logan Fleenor, and Zach Resha have volunteered.

– Mentors willing to go???

• Friday, December 9, 2011 at noon EST: Safety Animation Due Date– Drew Murray, Nicholas Ettore, and Anthony Williams have

volunteered to create this!

• December 12th , 2011 at 6:00 p.m. School Board Report for in Administration Building. – Hannah Breal, Bethany Russell, Logan Fleenor, Tristan Allen, and

Andrew Shumaker have volunteered to present. (Any others?)

– Gary Childers (JCPenney), Russ Nelson (Energy Systems Group) will be attending.

December Events:• TBA: Labview Software Training: Ricky McGill

(Eastman Physicist) has offered his expertise with the Labview software. He uses it every day at Eastman and has agreed to teach all four schools on how the software can be used.

– Logan Fleenor, Drew Murray, Dillon Barr, Anthony Trigiani, Andrew Shumaker, Bethany Russell, Zach Resha, Anthony Williams, Sean McCarty, and Bill Nash have volunteered to go to Eastman to learn!

– Sandy Harris at Eastman is organizing this event and will notify us of the date soon.

– There are tutorials on www.ni.com

January Events:• Saturday, January 7th, 2012 (leaving THS at 7:00 a.m.):

Official FRC “Kick-off” Event in Knoxville at Convention Center. 8 students and 2 mentors will be chosen to attend this event. We are limited to 10 people.

– Field Trip Form required for these 8 students.

– Van or Truck needed to transport Kit (Volunteer?)

• Saturday, January 7th at 10:00 a.m. in the Math Computer Lab: Live feed of the Kick-off online for the rest of the team to watch at THS– THS Sponsors needed (Volunteers?)

• Saturday, January 7th at 5:30p.m. in the Robotics Room – (enter through gate on Southside), we will ALL meet to open the kit

and take inventory, then start to brainstorm and develop our strategy! Food Needed (Parent volunteer?)

Teams get only 6 weeks to Design & Build!

January/February Events:

January 7th to February 21st, 2012:

• Weekdays and Weekends—schedule to be determined.

• Food donations for build days—coordinator needed (Volunteer?)

March Events:

• March 1-3, 2012 Smoky Mountain Regional Competition at the Knoxville Convention Center. – Travel Coordinator needed (Volunteer?)– Hotel reservations, transportation, Field Trip

forms, costs, etc.

• Travel arrangements—hotel reservations, transportation for team and robot, meals, etc.

• Communications—presentations, website, pictures, video, etc.

• School Pride/hospitality—team meals and snacks during build season, special team-building events, etc.

• Mentor Support—organizes mentors and coordinates build season

• Fundraising—coordinates fundraising activities
