    FINAL PAPER

    1. In a chart, describe the advantages and disadvantages of using technology inyour professional development taking into account Blended Learning,

Education 2.0, Web 2.0 and IT.

    TYPE OFTECHNOLOGY FOREDUCATIONPURPOSE.

    ADVANTAGES DISADVANTAGES

    BLENDEDLEARNING

Virtual interaction:Blended Learning allowsstudents or teachers tointeract in a virtual way

creating a Cyberneticscommunication in theteaching-learning process.

    Distanceeducation:

The use of blendedlearning is not necessaryto present in a classroomto work on an activity that

    is done throughcomputers that facilitateinteraction.

    VirtualCollaboration:

Blended learning allowsboth students and teacherswork together throughvirtual collaborationmaking easier the processof teaching and learning ineducation becoming atechnological process.

    Lack ofresources:

There are studentswho do not have

the technologicalresources(computers) for theuse of blendedlearning, causingunlimited use ofthis.

Loss of interest:The use of blendedlearning can make

some students loseinterest to studywithout the presenceof a teacher. Thinkingthat blended learningis an informal way oflearning.

    Incorrect use:Some students may

see blended learningas a hobby and not as away of learning.

    EDUCATION 2.O

Enhancement:Education 2.0 improvesthe teaching and learningprocess through the use of

    Copy andpages:

The use of newtechnological tools is

wikis, social networkingand blogger. Implementedin virtual communitiesbetween students andteachers as forums and

    platforms.

Facilitates :Education 2.0 providestechnological tools thatfacilitate the teaching-learning process, becausetools such as audio-visualequipment in theclassroom become more

    understandableeducational contentgenerating critical skills instudents.

easier than copyingand pasting thestudent theinformation they findon the websites.

    WEB 2.0

    Communicationspaces.

The application Web 2.0open spaces ofcommunication betweenteachers and students

through the technologicaltools that lead tointeraction andcollaboration.

Interactions:With web 2.0 applicationthe users can interactthrough comments ondocuments or pages theyvisit, allowing questionsor answers interactionbetween the manager andhis visitors.

Motivation:Web 2.0 is an applicationthat includes different

Distraction:Sometimes, the use oftechnological toolssuch as socialnetworking andblogger distracts from

the real purpose ofeducation resulting instudents an attitudemore interested inimmersing these toolsin their personal lifeand not onprofessional training.

Confused:Web 2.0 can generate awrong thinking instudents on the use oftechnology. Seeing itas a distraction tolearning and not as asupport tool.

types of technologicaltools blogging, wikis, social networking andmore generatingstimulation in students to

    communicate, interact,create and document theirlearning.

    IT(INSTRUCTIONAL

    TECHNOLOGY)

InfluenceThe use of technologyencourages students tobetter their learning andcreate their own style oflearning.

Access:The use of IT in learningallows students to accessall kind of website astechnological tools tosupport their learning.

EconomyThis is a veryimportant for the useof technology ineducation factor, but isalso a factor that notall people have.

FailuresWhen technology isused in the teachinglearning sometimessetbacks as equipmentfailure and powerfailure occur.

    2. Explain how you are going to design a lesson plan online by using Web Questand what are the real propose using this kind of technology in your professionaldevelopment.

Webquest is an inquiry oriented activity in which some or all of theinformation that learners interact with comes from resources on the Internet.(RAIA, 2009)

So webquest is used in the process of teaching and learning as a

curriculum on the web to organize a lesson so to design a webquest mustfirst choose the subject and the level that will be addressing. Thus it createsthe introduction of short way that shows the essence of the webquest as anexplanation of it. After which the task is created having consideration thelevel of students will be immersed in the webquest. Then to indicate theprocess step by step how the student will perform the task and finally theevaluation where a rubric is prepared to set out standards to evaluate. In thewebquest present some Videos, images and documents related to the topic

where the videos can be tutorials or just information on the subject, so thevideos are selected depending on the level of the webquest to help andguide the student in developing the webquest. Documents are selected byresources on the web to provide relevant information on the subject forstudents to read and implement the level of analysis. So they have to

understand analyze and interpret information to support of this. The imagesare selected to stimulate interest in students. So that when selected shouldchoose the most appropriate to the subject. So the curriculum designed inthe webquest must present educational information to guide the studentand stimulates the proper development of these implementing web 2.0applications and blended learning because it gives a potential environmentto learn and teach more effectively. The purpose of the Webquest in the education system is where the teacheruses it as a master page to interact with their students virtually andfamiliarize students with the use of technology in a professional way.

    3. Explain how you are going to deal if you want to use technology in aschool or place of work but there is not Tech in the classroom. What areyou going to do? How are you going to solve the problem? Provide

resources that you will use and the procedures

To implement the technology in a school where there is no start infamiliarizing students with technological terms with basic informationabout computers. The first topic that would impart computer parts andfunctions and use the resources that would be posted with images showingthe parts. When students are at a computer can have the basic knowledge todifferentiate parts. Another resource that would use books or pamphlets todisseminate conceptual and procedural information about using a computerand what is the function of each part of this. With that generate theoreticalknowledge about the technology.

To practice I would lend my computer to student to use. As a firsttopic to the practice will be how to turn off and turn on the computer andhow to enter the computer system. But the most important question is:

How would I do to work with a student group and only computer?

First, divide the hours practical and theory classes. So that the theoreticaltime impart information generated prior knowledge at the time of theinternship hours and then divide the group of students in teams. Assignthem numbers indicate the order in which the computer are use. For the useof computer programs I would use essential and appropriate level of

students with whom I am working.

    4. Choose digital resources you will include and describe how those digitalresources you are going to improve you PLE and PLN .

    PERSONAL LEARNING ENVIROMENT(PLE)

Mark van Harmelen describes Personal Learning Environments asSystems that help learners take control of and manage their ownlearning. This includes providing support for learners toset their own learning goalsmanage their learning; managing both content and processcommunicate with others in the process of learningAnd thereby achieve learning goals. (Graham, 2000)

So PLE is the join of social network and internet accounts inside theown learning of students. A PLE include social networking as Facebook and

Twitter and internet accounts as: Gmail, You Tube, Google, Zunal, Rubistar,Twetterfeed, and also include Blogger as a web published tool.

FACEBOOKFacebook is a social network created by Mark Zuckerberg. I use

Facebook with the purpose to create and electronic system ofcommunication between myself and other people. So I think Facebook is atool that I use on my PLE because it gives me the opportunity to learnthrough interaction cybernetics.

TWITTERTwitter is a social network created by Jack Dorsey. I use Twitter withthe purpose to follow educational pages that give me information that I useto do my homework.

BLOGGERBlogger is a web publishing tool created by Payra Labs. I use blogger

with the purpose to create my professional profile to post documents and

share my knowledge about an specific topic and also to acquire knowledgeabout others blogs that I visit.

ZUNALIs an educational portal where I can create a webquest and create a

    curriculum online.

YOU TUBEYouTube is a website created by Steve Chen and Chad Hurley. I use

this website with the purpose to improve my English. Also while listeningto music acquiring new vocabulary. Also with You Tube I can down loadand view tutorials that explain me how I should do something.

GMAILGmail is an electronic mail service created by Paul Bucheit. I useGmail to send and receive messages and documents that come from friends, families, classmates and teachers. So in my learning process I use Gmailwith the purpose to exchange information as homework.

RUBISTARRubistar is a tool to build evaluation matrix to evaluate a job. My PLE

Rubistar is use as a tool that helps me to create and evaluate guides andspecific jobs.

TWITTERFEEDTwitterfeed is a website that I use to join my Facebook, Blog and

Twitter to show the updates that I do in any of them. Also to keep myfollowers informed of my publications because Twitterfeed creates a loopthat links what I do in my blog on my Facebook and twitter.

All social network and internet accounts that I use on my PLE haveeducational purpose because all of that improves my learning process.

    MY PROFESSIONAL NETWORK

    (PLE)

APLN is an aspect ofPLEs, where the individualhasagroup

ofpeoplewithinhis or hervirtualprofessional network, and the relationshipwith each is based upon a commoninterest, collaborative project or research.

    (Morrison, 2013)

So PLN is the way of use of social network and internet accounts in a

professional way. There is facebook, twitter, skipe, blogger and linked in.

FACEBOOKI use facebook because it allows us to stay connected with others and

to join fan pages because they are professionals based pages created for

something or to give information creating a means for professionalinteraction.

TWITTEROn my twitter PLN I use to give me the opportunity to pursue

professional sites such as the University of Richmond. Yale's dictionary and

more follow these pages because I provide interesting and educational

information in English and its publications are informative.

SKIPESkipe is an application I use to do video calls. So in a professional

way is used to do videoconferencing.

BLOGGERBlogger is used in my PLN as a tool to interact with other people and

the interaction is through comments. But the comments are questions about

    the blogger.

LINKED INLinked In I used in the PLN as access to professional people in a specific

area in my case in the area of English to share knowledge.
