THE PERKINS FAMILY SERVING IN NICARAGUA

    FEBRUARY 2012

This last month MSM and New Day

Ministries started working in a newcommunity called Aduana 1. This sweet

    little community has about 500

residents, over 100 families, 4 public

water and wash stations for the

community to use during the rainy

season, a school with 4 classrooms and

a church that is thriving and growing. We were there along with a group from

Canton, PA. to work in their

community. We thought we were there

to bless them, but in reality WE were

the ones who were blessed. I (Lisa)

    was especially encouraged by the

church and the community. They are alight in a world of darkness, and a

breath of fresh air. We are so excited

to walk with this community and see

their light shine even brighter for God,

    and reach others for Christ!

God is doing an AMAZING work in

Nicaragua. Not only has he included us

in ministry, but He is bringing inreinforcements! Jana and Glen

    Kauffman of New Day Ministries

(NDM) spent 3 weeks in February

    working on their property, helping

Michael and I with their group from

PA., and encouraged us with help with

various projects in and around our

farm. They are hoping to move down

to Nicaragua to live full time in June or

    July.

We are working together in Aduana 1

to get all the kids sponsored for school

($20 a month), but also working

through the church and their pastor to

reach others for Christ. Pastor Sylvio

mentioned that his biggest need at the

present time is for teaching materials to

use for the congregation and the

childrens ministry. Each book for the

adults costs $4 and he would love to

get a box of craft materials and lesson

plans to use for the childrens ministry.

If you would like to partner with us inthis ministry opportunity, please write

and ask how you can help!!!

NDM already has their first potential

residents for their center.... Last month

while they were visiting, one of the little

girls was hit by a car near her home in

the Oriental market. Although mom is

doing all she can to provide a safe and

nurturing home for her girls. she has to

trust others to care for her girls whileshe works for $2.50/day. The girls had a

    great time visiting LQBE running

around, playing on the trampoline and

sleeping in a clean and quiet

environment. Please pray for this family

and the funds necessary to start the

    first home. Most importantly, please

pray for all of us to live out our

relationship with Jesus Christ in action

    and in truth.

Dear children, let us not love with words or tonguebut with actions and in truth. 1 John 3:18

    How to getinvolved:

PRAY with us! Yes, it is that easy! We

are always in need of your prayer support!

It is easy to get busy with ministry, to get

discouraged with life, pressure and feelingthe aches of homesickness. We believe in

the power of prayer for our family and

ministry and we would love to be a part

    of your prayer life!

    SPECIFIC PRAYER REQUESTS:

    Perkins Kids:

Kaia, Ellis and Samuel are assimilating well

in to their new schedules. Kaia and Eller

are a little discouraged with the rigorous

    academic standards at the German

School. I dont want them to get

discouraged with school because it is hard

to have all their classes in Spanish and

    German. Samuel is doing good...usually.

Mondays are a little harder for him to get

back to school, but he is making friends,

learning some German and talking more in

    Spanish.

    March Activities:

This month we will be working with a

construction team from SHCC while they

work alongside the church of Monte de

los Olivos in Aduanas Dos. The local

church has been saving funds to enlarge

their church and we would love to bless

them by working with them on the

building. We will also be hosting a Pastoral

seminar at our farm for the local pastors.

Also this month we will be starting a new

work in the community of El Brasil.

Realizing the importance of reaching the

next generation, the pastor, Elan, is looking

to grow his childrens and youth programs.

We will also be doing service projects to

the unchurched in his community as a

bridge to reach them for Christ.

    COME AND

    SERVE

We would LOVE to get you plugged in

to any of the projects and communities

we are involved with. There arecountless ways to serve Gods people

    in Nicaragua!
