‣ The costumes have been ordered, the music has been selected and the students have been working on their routines for our tenth dance recital. It is going to be a great show!

‣ Recital informational packets will be handed out the week of March 5-10 during your dancers class. Please make sure one parent attends this important class. Recital tickets will go on sale April 27th.

‣ Be sure to take a look at all of the 2018 costume selections in the costume binder. The costume binder is located in the lobby. Super cute costumes!

Recital Program Book AND Souvenir Year Book

The recital program will include ads, program order, studio information, and be given out free to audience members. The souvenir yearbook will be a pre-sale item with class pictures and more pictures throughout the year. Ad forms for the recital program book will be available in the lobby starting February 1st. Ads will be on sale from February 1-April 20, 2018.

Weather Cancellations

In case of severe weather, please call The Arts Center office or visit the web site for cancellations. There will be a message indicating any changes in our schedule. Cancellations or changes in the schedule will be posted two hours before class time.

Classes cancelled due to weather will be subject to available make-up times. No refunds on weather cancellations.

HAIR AND MAKE UP DEMONSTRATION MONDAY, FEBRUARY 5TH 6:30-7:30 PM Do you need help with how to do your dancers hair and make up? All dance company parents are welcome to attend a hair and make up tutorial at the studio Monday, February 5h from 6:30-7:30 PM. We will have dance moms and company members to demonstrate step by step how to do hair and make up. You can bring your dancer to practice or just watch the demonstration. Pointe of Joy Dance Boutique will also bring make up kits and tights to to purchase the same night.

EXTRA REHEARSAL SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 11TH PRIMARY I, II, AND III • SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 11TH at THE ARTS CENTER This will be a rehearsal dedicated to their competition dance. Dancer should wear solid black dance attire, pink or tan tights, and proper dance shoes. 2:00-3:00 PM Primary I “Rockin’ Robin” - Tap 3:00-4:00 PM Primary II “House of Fun” - Jazz 4:00-5:00 PM Primary III “Workin’ Day and Night”- Tap

DANCE PICTURES Dance pictures will be taken on Saturday, April 28th and Sunday, April 29th at the studio. Julie Lyle from Columbus, Ohio will be taking group photos, as well as individual shots in all costumes. Miss Jill will be on hand to help pose the students for the photograph. Please make every effort to make sure your child is present for dance pictures – even if you don’t want to purchase a group shot, we still would like to have everyone present in the class photos. We are going to use the class photos for studio advertisements, souvenir year book, and group pictures will be displayed at The Arts Center. A detailed schedule with picture times will be emailed by the end of March. Please email any conflicts for pictures by March 1st. We will do our best to work around all of dancers schedules.

2018 FATHER/DAUGHTER DANCE We are making plans for our fifth Father/Daughter recital routine! We are celebrating our 10th anniversary recital and bringing back some of our favorite dances from past recitals. The theme this year is “Friend Like Me” from Aladdin. This dance was performed in 2010 and it was a big hit. The dads will be the Genie and the daughters will be Princess Jasmine. Grandpas, uncles, and family friends are also welcome to perform. This is a special time for the dancers to have fun with their favorite dance partner.

The routine will be very “Father Friendly”. All ages are welcome to participate. Classes will be held on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and will cost $50 per couple $25 for each additional sibling for five rehearsals. Registration forms are available in the lobby. Please fill out the form and pay by cash or check ONLY.
