Education Maintenance Allowance: EMA Applications for the Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) are

now open if you have a current Health Care Card or Pension Card,

First semester applications must be submitted to the college by 27

February, 2009. Applications are available from the college office.

Please refer to General Information for parents/guardians on the

Education Maintenance Allowance 2009 for further information.

Please note that all late applications will not be accepted.

School Uniform Every Ilim College student must wear full school uniform. Sports

uniform is compulsory for students from grade prep to year 10.

Parents please note; consistent care of hygiene and appearance of

uniform. It makes a difference to your child.

School Hats Australia has the highest rate of skin cancer in the world. It is

estimated that more than 75% of all skin cancer could be prevented

childhood and adolescence. All male students in primary department

are required to wear a college hat during recess and lunch times and

during sport. Primary students will not be permitted to go outside .

Students are also encouraged to drink water rather than soft drinks

during the hotter days.

College Diary All secondary students and primary from grade 4 to grade 6 are re-

quired to purchase an Ilim college diary for 2009.

School Bags A reminder that all primary and secondary can buy the official school

back pack. School bag is compulsory for primary students and lower

secondary students.

Hair Style for School Students hair must be of natural colour. Hair cuts for boys should be

of equal length & kept short. No tales allowed for boys. Use of gel or

other types of hair products is also not allowed. Students who do not

obey the college rules will be sent home immediately.

Assalamu Alaikum Wr. Wb.

I wish to extend a warm welcome to all staff, parents and teachers to the new academic year. I pray that it will be a healthy, successful and happy year to all alike. Alhamdulillah we are off to a smooth start which usually paves the way to a good

year ahead of us.

Routine for younger children is the most important element to their happiness and success. Therefore, I urge parents to set a routine of rest, homework and play at home for their children and ensure they are in bed no later than 8:30pm. Once this is established early and from day one, children become very clear of expectations and it makes their school day run a lot

smoother.

There has been no shortage of success stories to share and celebrate last year. Inshallah we will all celebrate many more achievements and enjoy the

awards together.

I am aware that many parents are having difficulty with picking up their PREP child at 12:00pm. I apologize for the inconvenience but would really like your understanding in this matter. The transition program has been designed with your child in mind and leaving school early for the first few weeks is essential. Starting school can be very overwhelming for our younger children and must not be compared with kindergarten or childcare. Offering after care until the end of the day defeats the purpose of this transition as children become very tired at school. A tired child is challenged to display positive

behavior and is certainly not conducive to learning in the busy classroom.

I thank all parents for their co-operation and wish to point out our primary school morning assembly will be held at the gym on Friday mornings. Parents

are welcome to join from 8:50 onwards.

Please also be reminded that 'Meet the Teacher" Information evenings will be held by all Primary teachers on Thursday 26th of February after school in your child's classrooms. This will provide an opportunity to meet your child's teacher and become informed of important information about their year level. Please ensure you attend this important session. Further information

and reminders will be sent out as the time comes closer.

I look forward to sharing another fruitful year with you all. Please do not hesitate to contact me via phone or make an appointment for any matters you

wish to discuss.

I wish all families a happy and successful year.

Kind Regards,

Ms. Aynur Simsirel

Primary Vice Principal

Önemli Günler

Sayın veliler, öğrenciler ve okul personeli,

Esselamu Aleyküm,

Đlim Koleji, 2009 eğitim ve öğretim yılında bütün öğrenci, veli

ve okul çalışanlarımıza hoşgeldiniz demek istiyorum. Bu

seneki öğrenci sayımızın 1000’i aşması nedeniyle tüm yeni

öğrenci ve öğretim görevlilerimize özel hoşgeldiniz dileklerimi

sunarım.

2008 yılı VCE sınavlarında elde ettiğimiz başarıları sizlere

bildirmekten gurur duyarım. Bir kez daha Đlim Koleji olarak %

100 geçiş oranı elde ettik ve 12. Sınıf öğrencilerimizin % 80’i

üniversiteye girmeye hak kazandı. Đlim Koleji öğrencilerimizin

VCE sınavlarında, seçtikleri yüksek okul bölümlerinde

eğitimlerine devam etmelerini sağlayacak olağanüstü başarılar

elde ettigini sizlere bildirmekten mutluluk duyarım.Kolej

çalışanlarımız sadece VCE sınavlarında elde edilen başarılı

sonuçlarla kalmamakla birlikte, bütün ilkokul ve ortaokul

bölümlerinde değişik dallarda elde edilen öğrenci

başarılarından dolayı son derece gurur duymaktadırlar.

Yaz tatili süresince sentetik çimen alanı ve veli araba parkı

giriş kapısının tamamlandığını sizlere bildirmek isterim.

Velilerimiz yeni araba parkını ve okul kütüphanesinin

arkasında olan araba parkı giriş kapısını kullanmalıdır. Ekte

Wassalam
