Music Ministry

FOR YOUR INFORMATION

What a great time we had at our “Soup-er Bowl” fellowship. I want to thank each person who brought soup or a dessert. I felt it was a great success. I even heard a couple of people say we should do this a lot more often. TEAM IMPACT is coming back! That’s right! Team Impact will be with us February 25-March 1. There are a lot of flyers, bookmarks, and cards to hand out. Let me encourage you to take a handful and pass them out. Last year we had more unchurched people come through our church than any other time. We also had over 160 people make professions of faith. Let’s get behind this effort and make it even more successful. If that is going to happen we need to bathe this in prayer. We need to pray for the team, the people who will be invited, the schools and the soldiers on post who will get a chance to ex-perience a performance this year. We will need a host of volunteers again this time. We will need men to set up and clean up, meals for the team and counselors each night. If you would like to help, please let us know. Bro. Doug

Volunteers Needed To Provide

Meals for Team Impact! If you would like to help provide a meal for the crusade team, check with your Sunday School department director or call the Education Office at 355-6190. Meals needed include: February 25 (5 and 9 p.m.);

February 26 (12 noon, 5 p.m. and 9 p.m.); February 27 (12 noon, 5 p.m. and 9 p.m.); February 28 (12 noon, 5

p.m. and 9 p.m.); March 1(12 noon, 5 p.m. and 9 p.m.). You can pair up with one or more families to

help with the meals. Someone will need to be present to serve as a host for the meals.

Pray for Our Missionaries The following is a list of people that are connected with our church that are currently serving as missionaries in the United States and abroad: James and Linda Redeker are missionaries in Thailand through the Inter-national Mission Board and we have adopted them for prayer support. Eric and Lisa Laffoon are missionaries in Malawi through the International Mission Board and Eric was part of our church through high school and college days. Pray for their work. Danny Brown is serving in Thailand with Youth With a Mission. Danny is supported by our annual budget and was a member at First Baptist East for many years. Carl and Beth Brassfield are serving with the Baptist Medical and Dental Mission International organization in Nicaragua. Beth is the daughter of Jim and Elaine McGuire. Mark and Amy Bearden are serving with Life Action Ministries.

Help us get the word out about our Team Impact Crusade!

Pick up materials at the Welcome Center to pass out as invitations to the crusade. If you have a business and would like to put a poster in your business, please check at the Welcome Center! Pick up flyers and take them to neighboring homes. Carry some of the invitation cards with you at all times to invite people you come in contact with to

the crusade. Let’s make a real effort to impact our city and area for Christ!

See you there!

Team Impact Counselor Training

February 22 Two Opportunities: 5:15 or 8 p.m.

We will need an army of volunteers to help people wishing to make decisions during the upcoming crusade. Last year, we did not have enough and so we need your help - par-ticularly if you have been trained previously in evangelism training such as FAITH or CWT. We need people that can help all five nights, but if you can help only one or two nights, we need you! If you served last year, we need your help again and you do need to attend one of these meet-ings as we are making some adjustments to the way we did things last year.

If you have never done anything like this before, we will tell you exactly what to do and staff members will be available to assist you if need during the counseling time.

Every person needs to attend one of these two meetings. The meetings will be identical and child care will be avail-able at the 5:15 p.m. training only.

VBS Coming June 1-5

tHEME: “LIVE LOVE” SPEAKER: GARY MCNEIL BAND: DENVER DUNCAN WITH RAPPER, CEDENOUGH COST: $55 it’s gonna be awesome! This year’s theme is, “Live Love”, in which we will be talking about how to love people the way Jesus did. I know that the cost looks steep; but listen to what it in-cludes: food for the weekend, a sweet t-shirt, a 50 page student booklet for the weekend, the band, the speaker, and your home group leaders. Wow, now that’s a big bang for your buck! Scholarships will be available (by application). It’s time to get pumped!

Some Reminders About Your Giving!! Your help is needed with the following items to help us with accuracy concerning your financial records: 1. Use an offering envelope. (if you are not getting them through the mail and would like to, please call the church office at 355-6190).

2. Fill out envelope completely with husband and wife (if applicable) and Sunday School class or department. Believe it or not, we have different members that have the exact same names!

3. Write giving breakdown between your tithe/budget offering and Building for His Glory or other designated giving in your check memo as well as on your envelope.

Your attention to these matters is greatly appreciated by your financial secretary!
