Which browsers PXE4 supports?

Ans. PXE is compatible with following browsers:

Internet Explorer 9.0, 10.0 and 11.0 – Windows; compatibility view is not supported

Firefox 53 to 57 - Windows and Mac OS

Chrome 61 to 65 - Windows and Mac OS

Safari 10 and 11 - Mac OS

Note: Unsupported browsers may cause frequent data loss and editing problems

PXE4 is a web-enabled tool that requires uninterrupted Internet connection. Hence, make sure

there is no flaw in the same. Apart from this, following are some other reasons that can cause the same

trouble:

User should check that Browser Mode must be IE 9/ 10/ 11, as PXE is not compatible with

following Internet Explorer view modes:

o Internet Explorer 9,10,11 with Compatibility View

Following are steps to choose Internet Explorer 10 as your Browser Mode:

1. Select ‘Tools’ on the Menu Bar and choose ‘Developer Tools’ (Short-cut Key F12)

2. Click on ‘Browser Mode’ and Select ‘Internet Explorer 10’ (Figure 1)

Do I need to enable the Pop-up Window Settings, while using PXE4?

Ans. Yes, PXE4 requires popup windows to be enabled. In case Pop-up setting is not enabled, follow

the mentioned steps:

From top to bottom

I am using Firefox for accessing PXE4, but it is showing a message, saying “Skype has been

detected on your browser. It may cause some problem(s). Please uninstall”. How can I fix this

problem?

Ans. User needs to disable Skype from your Browser. For the same, follow some of the mentioned

steps:

1. Click on ‘Tool’ in the main menu bar

2. Select ‘Add-ons’ and go to ‘Extensions’

3. You will see the Skype in the index of Extensions, then ‘Disable’ it from the browser

I am unable to extend the editing window to full-screen mode and Zoom Function to increase

the size of the text. What is the reason behind this?

Ans. A zoom option has been provided in the edit toolbar. Using this button user can increase or

decrease the size of the content in the edit window.

Can I insert alphabet (a, b, c....) and Roman Numeric (I, II, III....) in ordered lists (numbering)

while using PXE?

Ans. While inserting ordered list in the content, the styles that user can apply includes, alphabets

(Small and Capital), Roman numerals (Upper case and Lower Case) and Numbering.

Similarly styles available for users in unordered lists include, Dark Square Box, Light Square Box

and Hyphen.

User can use any of the above mentioned styles for ordered and unordered lists respectively.

How can I track the View Changes?

Ans. PXE4 presents the changes in highlighted colors to help you in tracing them easily. You can trace

the changes in following manner:

Text in Red Strikethrough refers to the deleted content.

Text in Yellow refers to the inserted/changed content.

Text in Blue indicates the Primary Index Term.

Text highlighted in Pink refers to Secondary Index Term.

Can I insert a Query in the reference?

Ans: Yes. The basic function of the Query is to raise a doubt; hence its area is not restricted. User can

insert query in between the references as well. Follow the mentioned steps:

1. Place the cursor in between the reference where you want to place the query.

2. Select the Query Manger button from the Edit Toolbar.

3. Add Query window will appear at the bottom of the main window.

4. Select the Role on which you want to raise the query.

5. Select the Name of the user.

6. Mention the detailed Query in the Text Box.

7. Click on the add button.

8. The query will appear at the end of the Reference in the following manner.

How can I insert a table in the chapter?

Ans. Following steps should be taken to insert the table caption:

1. Place the cursor where you want to cite the table citation and click the Table Manager Button

from the edit toolbar.

2. Select the ADD NEW tab from the Table Manager window that has appeared at the bottom of the

edit window.

3. Select the required style from the list of pre-defined templates and click the insert button to

create the table (New table will be inserted at the end of the paragraph)

I am trying to delete some figures from the Chapter, but it is displaying a message, saying ‘it is a

Read Only Element. Why?

Ans. For deleting any figure and table, user needs to use Figure Manager and Table Manager,

respectively. In these managers, you can see the ‘delete’ option that help in deleting the specific item

and it’s listing throughout the doc.

How can I read the inserted query?

Ans. User can view and take a print of the list of all queries, included in the chapter from the Query

Section (Available in Miscellaneous Links).

I want to insert a figure that is not available in the listing. What I can do to bring it in the list of

the figures?

Ans. Upload the new figure, using Figure Manager, to see the desired figure in the listing. You can also

follow some of the following steps to upload the figure:

1. Click the Figure Manager Button from the toolbar; this will open a Figure Manager Dialog

box.

2. Insert the figure template and double click on the same to access the Photo Gallery.

3. Click the Browse Button to locate the figure in Photo Gallery.

4. Double-click the figure; the source link of the figure will be shown in the box.

5. Click Upload Button to upload the figure.

6. Click on OK Button to upload it in the chapter.

How can I check the Project Status?

Ans: To see the Project Status, User needs accessing rights. After gaining the Rights, follow the mentioned

steps:

1. Click on Status of Report Module

2. Project Status will appear in the drop down list

3. Click on the Project Status summary to view the Project Status.

How can I post Comments?

Ans. To post the comment, follow some easy steps:

1. Click on ‘Miscellaneous Links and select Comments from the menu

2. Choose Post Comment option

3. Mention the comment in the Text Box

4. Specify the comment-type (To make it visible Global/book)

5. Click on the post comment option

How can I modify the URL?

Ans. Follow the mentioned step to modify the URL:

Step 1: Place the cursor on the tagged text

Step 2: Click on the URL tagging option from the Editing Tool Bar. URL Tagging window will appear at

bottom

Step 3: Remove the existing link and mention the new URL in the same tab

Step 4: Validate and Update the same Modified

The Project Status page shows orange colored progress bar in the listing. What it means?

Ans. The orange colored progress bar under any user role indicates that currently user is working on the

same chapter.

How can I select the Auto Save option for 15 min?

Ans. Go to ‘My Profile’ of User application module and click on the bar that is given below under the

Auto Save Time option. Mention the desired time and save the changes.

How can I insert the Queries?

Ans. User can add queries within a chapter for a particular user. For this, perform following steps:

1. Place the cursor, where user want to place the query

2. Select the Add Queries button from the Toolbar. The Add Query pane appears at the bottom of the

Editing Window

3. Select a role from the To drop-down list for whom the query is inserted

4. Select a user name from the User Name drop-down list

5. Enter the query text in the available text box

6. Click the Add Button to add the query

7. The inserted comment will get displayed

Note:

1. If you are inserting a query in a paragraph or running content, place the cursor, where you want to

post the query

a. Result: Inserted query will get displayed at the cursor position only

2. If you are inserting a query in a reference, place the cursor at any place in the reference

a. Result: Inserted query will get displayed at the end of the reference

How can I move a chapter to the next level at different role?

Ans. By using key, user can move a chapter to the next level at different role. Follow the

mentioned steps for the same:

1. Save the changes of the chapter and click on Signoff button

2. The signoff window will appear

3. Select the role and user from the index.

4. Mention comments, if required.

5. Click on the Signoff button.

How can I move a chapter between the Roles at same level?

Ans. User can use button to move a Chapter between the Roles at Same Level.

Follow some of the easy steps that are mentioned below:

1. Save all the changes and click on Signover button.

2. Signover window will appear.

3. Select the role and user from the index.

4. Mention comments, if required.

5. Click on the Signover button.

How can I move a chapter to the previous level at different role?

Ans. User can use key to move a chapter to the previous level at different role. Note: User can use remand function only if, the user is working at the next level of the workflow. Follow the mentioned steps:

1. Save all the changes and click on Remand button

2. Remand window will appear.

3. Select the role and user from the index

4. Mention comments, if required

5. Click on the Remand button

What should be the cursor position for inserting a numbered reference in the text?

Ans. Place the cursor, where you want to cite the citation of that reference.

What should be the cursor position for inserting an unnumbered citation in the text?

Ans. Place the cursor at the end of the Block, where you want to cite the reference. Please note that

unnumbered reference has no citations.

Is numbered block is mandatory to insert numbered references?

Ans. Yes. It is mandatory. In case, you don’t have numbered block in the chapter, then first create it

with the use of reference manager New Block tab.
