SMILES®forFALL is important!Did you know… Tooth decay is the number one chronic childhood disease in the United States? Children lose more than 51 million school hours per year for dental-related illnesses, while adults lose more than 164 million work hours? Most adults (82%) are unaware of the role infectious bacteria can play in tooth decay and cavities? A public opinion survey conducted by the Hispanic Dental Association and sponsored by Procter & Gamble found that nearly 50% of Hispanic Americans think that seeing a little blood when spitting toothpaste into the sink is normal and that with time gingivitis will go away on its own with brushing? In 2011, OHA’s public opinion survey found that more than one-third (35%) of those who regularly visit the dentist have cut back on their visits to the dentist?

You can make a diff erence! Join Fall for Smiles and help change some of these alarming statistics!
