FINAL STEPSRESIDENCE HALL CHECK-IN

Please Note: No early arrivals are allowed except for specific groups that have been pre-approved. If you have questions, contact the Office of Student Housing at (434) 592-4139 or [email protected].

New students who have completed Financial Check-In and know their room assignment may check in to their residence hall during their assigned time. They will receive their room key from the Resident Assistant. Students should check their Liberty email or contact the Office of Student Housing for more information.

Representatives from Student Housing will be available in the Hancock Welcome Center, Aug. 15 from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Students can verify their housing assignment and information on ASIST under “My Housing and Dining.”

NEW STUDENT SEMINARThis seminar is required* for all first-time freshmen and transfer students with 11 credits or less. For more information and a list of New Student Seminar sessions, visit www.Liberty.edu/FRSM. *If you attended Summer Orientation and completed all FRSM 101 quizzes on Blackboard, you are not required to attend this seminar.

TRANSFER ORIENTATION

All transfer students with 12 or more credit hours must attend Transfer Orientation on Thursday, Aug. 15 at 3 p.m. in the Towns-Alumni Lecture Hall.

MEAL SCHEDULE

The Reber-Thomas Dining Hall will open at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15, for new and transfer students. All dining options will be open on Monday, Aug. 19. Your Flames Pass (student ID) is required for admission into the Reber-Thomas Dining Hall.

THINGS TO NOTE

INSTITUTIONAL LIABILITYThe university will not be responsible for damage to or loss of personal belongings, which are a result of fire, wind, water, insects, rodents, vandalism, or theft. However, when damage or loss is reported, the university will take reasonable steps to resolve the problem. Students are encouraged to make sure personal belongings are covered by their parent’s homeowner’s policy or a renter’s insurance policy. The university encourages students residing off campus to obtain homeowner’s or renter’s insurance to protect themselves against unforeseeable circumstances.

COMPUTERTo ensure that Liberty students are proficient in computer technology, they are required to take Information Technology 110 (INFT 110) or pass the computer assessment. Students who do not take or pass the computer assessment in their first Liberty semester are required to take INFT 110 within their first 45 credit hours or, if a transfer student, their first year at Liberty.

Passing the computer assessment or INFT 110 will satisfy the technology competency requirement listed on all Degree Completion Plans (DCP). Transfer students who have substituted a computer course for INFT 110 have satisfied the technology competency requirement.

ENGLISH AND MATHThe English and math assessment tests are for proficiency and placement, and the results are useful in determining student class schedules. SAT/ACT scores are also used for class placement.
