Big Question: How did you attract/address your audience?

Page 3: Evaluation part 4

Sub Question: what uses/ gratifications are offered by the texts your target audience enjoy One gratification it offers is personal identity.

This is because it allows our target audience to aspire to be like a valued other. This is because as our target audience are women , women would aspire to be like our protagonist as he is a strong character and challenges all the female traits. This is similarly seen in the film sky fall. This is because men aspire to be like James bond, as he is this strong male character who can take on the world and come out winning at the end.

Sub Question: what uses/ gratifications are offered by the texts your target audience enjoy Another gratification our title sequence offers is

social interaction. This is because in your sequence we have water cooler moments. This is because throughout our title sequence the appearance of the antagonist is hidden throughout. Which creates water cooler moments as the target audience are desperate to find our who the antagonist is. This is similarly seen in the film 127 hours as when we see aron has been trapped by a massive rock. He cuts off his arm in order to get free. This was very tense as the audience was kept on there feet whether he was going to do it or not and whether he will survive or not.

Sub Question: how is your film concept and plot offering the use/grats Entertainment. It offers entertainment as it allows our

audience to escape from there lives. This is because there is a scene in our plot where the protagonist is being chased by hitmen and at the end turns out to defeat the antagonist. This offers escapism as its unrealistic that a women would get chased by hitmen and come out winning , this allows our audience i.e. Women to escape from their working life into the life of our protagonist as it will allow them to see what they would do in the situation. This is similarly seen in the film Spiderman. This is because its unrealistic that a person could be Spiderman so it allows the audience to escape from their lives into the life of Spiderman which provides the audience with entertainment.

Pure entertainment

Sub Question: how is your film concept and plot offering the use/grats Identification. Our title sequence offers identification as it

allows the target audience to find models of behaviour to either embrace or reject. The protagonist can be seen as a model for the audience to either admire her or reject her because of her values. They might admire her as the picture shows she is helping others which shows her morals and values as she is helping others and not worried about her self even though she’s getting these weird phone calls. However the audience may reject as we find out from her past that she stole money from people bank account in order pay for the ransom. The audience may not like this as it could represent women in a wrong way and is illegal to do so.
