In order to attract an audience we created a questionnaire that would help us find out what people would be more interested in and kept this in mind while writing and filming. Here we set our scene in the woods as that is the second popular answer in the survey. We would have used an abandoned house but we couldnt find one in time, so we used a regular house.

Although of course there was no way to tailor our opening to everyones needs, but we did include certain things that happened to be some of the most popular answers in the survey.

Almost everyone in the survey liked psychological problems in horror films, which works out for us well as that is the basis of our opening.For example our opening is a psychological horror and that was the most watched one genre in our survey.

For a lot of the other questions we considered what would be most natural in the film opening and which one was popular throughout the survey.

Our original pitch didnt contain any demons or ghosts, so we didnt add that to our opening. But we did have a psychopath, which is the second most popular answer.For example a lot of people thought that having music in the background would be good for a film opening, and thats something we all agreed would be good.

The majority of the music used was quite loud and ominous as she flips through the book and runs through the woods. ConclusionIn Conclusion we attracted the audience by creating a survey which we emailed to people around school. The survey asked questions about horror movies and then looking at the answers we decided on what would be the best option for our opening. Using answers from this survey to ensure that there would be something for everyone. A lot of our decisions werent influenced by the survey at all, as we already had an idea of what to do in mind, but using the survey gave us a better understanding of what people want.
