ABOUT THE CHARTS._THE EUROPEAN TOP 100 (SINGLES/ALBUMS):In many European countries one chart isrecognised by the music industry as the "OFFICIAL hitparade and is thereforeused for the compilation of the EURO-PEAN TOP100. However there are othercountries where various charts are in ex-istence and often equally important. Forthese countries we have compiled anumber of these charts into one repre-senting the sales in that market,Each chart position for every country thenreceives, relevant to that position, anequal points rating which is in turn multi-plied by a factor determined through thelatest known sales percentage of totalsingles (or album) sales which that coun-try holds in relation to the rest of Europe.There are different percentages for sing-les and albums.These figures are kindlyprovided on a regular basis by the indus-try -organisations such as IFPI - BPI -GALLUP - DEUTSCHE PHONOVER-BAND etc.
