ESTAR with conditions and emotions
As you know: “How you feel and where you are, always use the verb estar.”
Estar is also used with adjectives to
talk about certain emotional and physical conditions.
Use estar with adjectives to describe the physical condition of
places and things.
La habitación está sucia.La puerta está
cerrada.
Use estar with adjectives to describe how people feel, both
mentally and physically.
El está triste.Ella está cansada.
Two important expressions with estar:estar de buen/mal humor
(to be in a good/bad mood)
Ella está de buen humor. Está de mal humor.
