AMBASCIATA D’ITALIA

WELLINGTON

Introduction from H.E. Fabrizio Marcelli Ambassador of Italy Italy is fair. The double meaning is intentional. Italian products represent a fair deal and we are very pleased to be able to showcase the Italian products available on the New Zealand market in a mini trade fair. With this initiative, we intend to increase awareness of the wide range of Made in Italy products available to kiwi consumers. Importers already do an excellent job and the Made in Italy brand is more and more visible these days, but there is still room for improvement. We believe that an email exchange, a phone conversation, leafing through a catalogue or visiting a website are no substitute for sampling the merchandise with your five senses. That could not be more true than in a country like New Zealand, where personal contacts and a handshake to seal the deal still have an important role in business.

E&OE 4 Made in Italy Trade Expo/17

Message from President ICCNZ – Christopher Griggs The Italian Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand was incorporated just over 16 years ago. Since that time, we have been on a journey. One of the purposes of that journey is, as our Constitution states, “the development in every possible way of economic and trade relations between Italy and New Zealand”. Today, in partnership with the Embassy of Italy to New Zealand and the Italian Trade Agency in Sydney, we have reached a very important milestone in that journey. With this inaugural Made in Italy Trade Expo, we bring to Auckland for the first time the very best products that Italy has to offer in one place. This Expo represents an exceptional opportunity for Italian companies, and their agents and importers in New Zealand and Australia, to showcase their products for New Zealand customers. We are doing that in the world-famous Italian style – in a stylish venue at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron in Westhaven Marina, previous host to the America’s Cup, with the hospitality which you would expect from one the best food and wine producers in the world. Expect to be surprised by the broad range of industries in which Italy is now exporting world-leading products. Come on our journey and enjoy a little piece of la bella vita in Auckland. As Ambassador Marcelli has said, there is no substitute to sampling the merchandise yourself. Non vedo l’ora (I can’t wait)!

Company Name: Independent Prestige Key Contact Person: Greg Brinck Website: www.lamborghini-auckland.com; www.iprestige.co.nz Email: [email protected] Phone: 09 360 3202 Lamborghini Cars demonstrate excellence born from passion, vision, high technology and artistic design. How many people would know that the Lamborghini DNA contains an important Kiwi component? Bob Wallace, Auckland –born, was a racing car enthusiast and mechanic. He followed his passion to England, working for the Lotus team and then to Italy, working for Maserati and Ferrari. At the age of 22years he joined the newly formed Lamborghini firm, where he would work for 12 years as a mechanic and ultimately their chief test driver. In a world not yet dominated by IT and by electronic sensors, the human contribution to car engineering and performance was essential. Testing cars took place at night, and during the day, on the autostradas, reaching speeds of 179mph. Fortunately traffic was not so heavy then. Bob Wallace, with his intimate knowledge of mechanics and car technology, provided an essential contribution to the iconic models of the Miura and Countach. He was a master, and Lamborghini management recognized his heritage and exceptional performance during the celebration of the 50yrs of Lamborghini’s birth. Lamborghini Auckland is a part of the Giltrap Group here in New Zealand. The new showroom in 119 Great

North Road is near completion and will certainly be a fitting visage for these stunning cars.

Absolute quality and innovation with respect for tradition over a hundred and fifty years of history, these are the values of Reda, which has been producing its own textiles since 1865. But today Reda is more than this. It’s a flagship for the Italian product while its fabrics are the proud results of made in Italy and experience, weaved with a fresh interpretation of fashion dictates. For Reda, speaking about quality means supervising and managing directly the entire chain of production: from the breeding of the best sheep in its farms: Glenrock Station, Rugged Ridges and Otamatapaio Station in New Zealand to the finished fabric designed and created entirely in Italy. This traceable and eco-friendly vision is translated, each year, into two collections according to the seasonal calendar of international prêt-à-porter, revealing accurate stylistic research in which, alongside manufacturing talent, fashion trends and contemporaneity are reflected. Inside these innovative fabric collections, Reda gave birth, through studies and researches, to Reda Active project extending Reda wool production not only for the formal world but until the sport market. Reda Active fabrics has taken wool to a next level by creating a high-performance 100% pure Merino wool product that delivers breathability, temperature regulation and extreme comfort for people who love active and outdoor lifestyles. The result is completely natural, lighter and comfortable to wear.

All these results have been possible thanks to over twenty-five years of relation between Reda and New Zealand, giving the company a unique chance to be, in the same time: producer, buyer and, last but not the least, retailer in this country. It has been and it still is, an incredible exchange arranged upon an absolutely equal basis, due to the fact that both parties can benefit only from detailed mutual knowledge. Up to date, there have been several similarities between the Reda wool mill and New Zealand: starting from the respect for nature, up to the attention to technological progress without neglecting care and research for quality. These are all essential aspects creating a common language, which together with the experience of the farms proves the intention of the Reda wool mill to become an integral part of the change underway. Reda and New Zealand represent two concrete realities that share exactly the same values; two unique personality moved by passionate spirit and desire of never stop improving. This is Reda: a woollen mill which has made textile its strength, choosing to continue to produce wholly in Italy, following the entire production line straight from the breeding of the best New Zealand merino sheep to the finished textile, transmitting its passion all over the world. http://www.reda1865.com/
