English 9 Honors Summer Assignment Part I: Literature 1. Your first assignment is to read Maus I and II by Art Spiegelman (ISBN 0394747232 and 0679729771). 2. Answer the questions on the attached handout (“Comics Technique”), using examples from the text to back up your ideas. Part II: Language Now you will sign up on Khan Academy and learn or review some basic grammar. 1. You'll need to create an account on the Khan Academy website (www.khanacademy.org). Then go to "add a coach" and type in the class code to join the class: TQDD2V. With this code, I will get your scores, and you will receive a grade for these exercises when school starts. 2. On the "Grammar" page, work through the videos and practice exercises listed below. You will have a review test on these basic grammar concepts within the first few weeks of school.
