    The associate degree and certifcate curriculum provides a background oremployment in a civil engineering ofce or or feld work in support o andunder the direction o a proessional engineer or licensed surveyor. Typicalemployment is in a surveying ofce recording data, preparing subdivision

    The associate degree and certifcate curriculum is a comprehensiveprogram in computer aided parametric 2D and 3D drating and design.The program is most appropriate or students with an engineering disci-pline background seeking competency in Computer Drating and DesignSotware (CAD). Class problem and project work includes applicationin mechanical, electronic, civil, surveying, architecture, and other majorengineering disciplines.

    The associate degree and certifcate curriculum in engineering dratingand design has two options to prepare a student or employment in anengineering, architectural, civil engineering, or a construction ofce as adrater, designer, or an engineering technician. Actual work in this feld orboth options is similar. Job tasks include preparation o drawings and plans(board and computer), sketches, layouts, diagrams, schematics, illus-trations, material lists, and size and mater ial specifcations. Opportunity oremployment exists in both private industry and city and county government

    agencies which employ draters, designers, and engineering technicians.

    Option I-Engineering Drafting and Design(sac.enrdd.as)(sac.enrdd.ca)

    The certifcate prepares the student or employment as a proessionaldrater/designer in the mechanical, aerospace, manuacturing, biomedical,or industrial engineering felds. Many courses are applicable to lower-divi-sion preparation leading to a bachelors degree in engineering technology

    The associate degree curriculum in ethnic studies is designed to oster

    individual cultural identity and cross-cultural communication, develop aconsciousness about the American pluralistic society and its origins, andprovide basic education regarding proessional careers involving interculturalrelations in felds such as arts, business education, government, health, law,public relations and public service. Emphasis will be on a cultural surveyo Native Americans, Asian Americans, Arican Americans and MexicanAmericans/Latinos rom the Pre-Columbian period to the present andthe contributions o these ethnic groups to U.S. society. Enrichment andglobal perspective will be added to majors such as Art, Anthropology, ChildDevelopment, Dance, Education, English, Foreign Language, History, Music,Psychology and Sociology.
