INTRODUCTION

Computer-Aided Design (CAD) are also known as computer-aide

design and drafting (CADD), is use of computer technology for the process of design and design-documentation. Computer Aided

Drafting program prepares students to work with engineering,architectural or industrial firms requiring knowledge and expertise inthe production of engineering drawings through computer-aideddrafting (CAD) techniques and/or traditional manual drawingtechniques. Thus, the mini project of refrigerator can be adapted by

using CAD. At the same time, this mini project can hone skills inusing CAD where the use of CAD is very useful when the workingenvironment soon.

DISCUSSION

After much contemplation, we decided to choose refrigerator as our mini project that we need to complete it. Because of the shape refrigerator andcomponents found in the refrigerator is not too difficult to understand and

painted. Most of the components used command box. So it is facilitate our work to complete this mini project quickly and accurately.

During developing this projects, there is no difficulty that we faced becauseall the commands and techniques are basically used during tutorial session inclass. These are details about the commands that we have been used to developeda refrigerator by using Computer Aided Drafting (CAD).

point and calculus.

Fillet Fillet/F Creates a round corner betweentwo lines.

Box Box Creates a solid box after you provide 2 opposite corners.

Cylinder Cylinder Creates a straight cylinder from acenter point, radius and height.

*BOOLEAN OPERATIONS COMMANDS

COMMAND INPUT DESCRIPTION

Union UNI Joins two or more solidsinto creating one based onthe total geometry of all.

Subtract SU Subtract one or moresolids from anothercreating a solid based onthe remaining geometry.

Extrude Face Solid Edit Allows to increase the sizeof a solid by extruding outone of its faces.

CONCLUSION

This mini project focuses on developing a refrigerator using Computer

Aided Drafting (CAD) which is more efficient and versatile draftingtechniques. By using CAD, we get the great result from the advantages of it,such as:

i)ACCURACY

Computer-generated drawings are created and plotted to an accuracy up tofourteen decimal places. The numerical entry of critical dimensions andtolerance are more reliable.

ii)SPEED

The ability of the CAD operator to copy and array objects and edit the work

on the screen speeds up the drawing process. When the operator customizesthe system for specific tasks, the speed of work increase even moremarkedly.

iii)NEATNESS AND LEGIBILITY

CAD drawings are uniform: they contains lines of constant thickness,

evenly-spaced hatch patterns, and print-quality lettering.

iv)CONSISTENCY

Because the system is constant in its methodology, the problem of individual style is eliminated. A company can have a number of

drafters working on the same project and produce a consistent setof graphics.

Thus, the objectives earlier are achieved.
