Company OverviewTIW Steel Platework Inc. is part of the Canerector Inc. group of companies. The group isengaged in the fabrication, construction and distribution sectors of the steel industry. TIW is afully integrated unit of design, manufacture, construction, and repair of field erected steel
platework structures.
Originally known as The Toronto Iron Works Company, TIW was established in 1907 as a supplierof tankage, process vessels and related equipment to the petroleum industry. The Company’sexpertise in steel platework has since established it as a leading supplier to the pulp and paper,chemical, mining and numerous other industries.
The nature of TIW work requires an extensive technical support staff which is fully conversantwith the applicable building codes and standards. Over numerous decades the company hasdeveloped custom work procedures and retained professional experts which is key to thecompany’s successful operation. 200,000 Square Foot Material Processing PlantOur 200,000 square foot covered material processing plant located on a 10-acre property. The site is well-serviced byrail and roadway and is adjacent to the Welland Canal, which services the Great Lakes. The shop contains the latest insteel fabrication machinery and is regularly updated to keep up with both technical and safety standards.

Our Nisku facility serves the Western Canada
marketplace, providing office space for sales,
conferences, meetings and routine training as well
as a home office where western Project and
Construction personnel are based.
On a four-acre lot, this large 23,000 square foot
facility serves as a depot, housing large fleets of
construction tools and equipment between jobs.
Highly trained and ticketed heavy duty mechanics
are stationed here, providing routine service,
maintenance and repair to various equipment along
with light duty mechanical work such as welding,
fabrication and tool repair.
With expertise in custom steel plate products, we’ve been involved in numerous industry structures including tanks, pressure vessels, spheres, Silos, Stacks, Penstocks and more. TIW designs, engineers, fabricates and constructs durable, high
quality welded bulk storage silos, bins and hoppers for a number of
industries such as wastewater treatment, cement, chemical, mining
and aggregate industries. Our Silos are designed for storing large
