1. SAFETY INFORMATIONBefore the installation and use of the appliance, carefullyread the supplied instructions. The manufacturer is notresponsible for any injuries or damages that are theresult of incorrect installation or usage. Always keep theinstructions in a safe and accessible location for futurereference.

1.1 Children and vulnerable people safety• This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years

and above and by persons with reduced capabilitiesprovided that they have been given instruction and/orsupervision regarding the safe use of the applianceand understand the potential hazards involved.

• Do not let children play with the appliance.• Keep detergents away from children.• Keep children and pets away from the appliance door

when it is open.• Children shall not carry out cleaning and user

maintenance of the appliance without supervision.

1.2 General Safety• This appliance is intended to be used in household

and similar applications such as:– farm houses; staff kitchen areas in shops, offices

and other working environments;– by clients in hotels, motels, bed & breakfast and

other residential type environments.• Do not change the specification of this appliance.• The operating water pressure (minimum and

maximum) must be between 0.5 (50) / 8 (800) bar(kPa)

• Obey the maximum number of 14 place settings.• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by

the manufacturer, its Authorised Service Centre or asimilarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

• Put knives and cutlery with sharp points in the cutlerybasket with the points down or in a horizontal position.

• Do not keep the appliance door open withoutsupervision to prevent to fall on it.

• Before any maintenance operation, deactivate theappliance and disconnect the mains plug from thesocket.

• Do not use high pressure water sprays and/or steamto clean the appliance.

• The appliance is to be connected to the water mainsusing the new supplied hose-sets. Old hose sets mustnot be reused.

• The ventilation openings in the base (if applicable)must not be obstructed by a carpet.

• Some dishwasher detergents are strongly alkaline.They can be extremely dangerous if swallowed. Avoidcontact with the skin and eyes and keep children awayfrom the dishwasher when the door is open.

• Check that the detergent receptacle is empty aftercompletion of the wash cycle.

2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS2.1 Installation• Remove all the packaging and the

transit bolts.• Do not install or use a damaged

appliance.• Do not install or use the appliance

where the temperature is less than 0°C.

• Follow the installation instructionsupplied with the appliance.

2.2 Electrical connectionWARNING!Risk of fire and electricalshock.

• The appliance must be earthed.• Make sure that the electrical

information on the rating plate agreeswith the power supply. If not, contactan electrician.

• Always use a correctly installedshockproof socket.

• Do not use multi-plug adapters andextension cables.

• Make sure not to cause damage tothe mains plug and to the mainscable. Should the mains cable need tobe replaced, this must be carried outby our Authorised Service Centre.

• Connect the mains plug to the mainssocket only at the end of theinstallation. Make sure that there isaccess to the mains plug after theinstallation.

• Do not pull the mains cable todisconnect the appliance. Always pullthe mains plug.

2.3 Water connection• Do not cause damage to the water

hoses.

• Before connection to new pipes, pipesnot used for a long time, where repairwork has been carried out or newdevices fitted (water meters, etc.), letthe water flow until it is clean andclear.

• Ensure that there are no visible waterleaks during and after the first use ofthe appliance.

• The water inlet hose has a safetyvalve and a sheath with an innermains cable.

WARNING!Dangerous voltage.

• If the water inlet hose is damaged,immediately disconnect the mainsplug from the mains socket. Contactthe Authorised Service Centre toreplace the water inlet hose.

2.4 Use• Do not sit or stand on the open door.• Dishwasher detergents are

dangerous. Obey the safetyinstructions on the detergentpackaging.

• Do not drink and play with the water inthe appliance.

• Do not remove the dishes from theappliance until the programme iscompleted. There can be detergent onthe dishes.

• The appliance can release hot steamif you open the door while aprogramme operates.

• Do not put flammable products oritems that are wet with flammableproducts in, near or on the appliance.

2.5 Service• Contact the Authorised Service

Centre to repair the appliance. Werecommend only the use of originalspare parts.

• When you contact the AuthorisedService Centre, ensure that you havethe following information that isavailable on the rating plate.Model :PNC :Serial Number :

• Disconnect the appliance from themains supply.

• Cut off the mains cable and discard it.• Remove the door catch to prevent

children and pets to get closed in theappliance.

4.1 Indicators

Indicator DescriptionXtraDry indicator.

Rinse aid indicator. It is always off while the programme operates.

TimeManager indicator.

Delay indicator.

XtraPower indicator.

Door indicator. It comes on when the appliance door is open or is notcorrectly closed.

Turbidity Sensor indicator. It comes on when the sensor for the programme operates. When the sensor operates, only this

indicator is on. All the other indicators, the display and the programmebar go off. They come on again when the Turbidity Sensor indicatorgoes off.

4.2 Programme barThe programme bar shows informationrelated to the programme and to theoption TimeManager.

Start and progress of the programmeWhen the programme starts, the 2 lateralsegments of the programme bar flash.

As the programme is in progress, themiddle segments come on with fixedlight , while the 2 lateral segments contin‐ue to flash.

When the programme is completed, allthe segments come on with fixed light.

Programme bar and TimeManager optionWhen you set a programme, that is appli‐cable to the TimeManager option, all thesegments of the programme bar come onwith fixed light.

When you set the TimeManager option,only the middle segment stays on withfixed light.

1) With this programme you have the most efficient use of water and energy consumptionfor crockery and cutlery with normal soil. (This is the standard programme for test institutes).2) The appliance senses the degree of soil and the quantity of items in the baskets . It auto‐matically adjusts the temperature and the quantity of water, the energy consumption and theprogramme duration.3) With this programme you can wash a load with mixed soil. Very heavy soil in the lowerbasket and normal soil in the upper basket. The pressure and the temperature of the waterin the lower basket are higher than in the upper basket.4) This programme has a high temperature rinsing phase for better hygiene results. Duringthe rinsing phase, the temperature stays at 70 °C for at least 10 minutes.5) With this programme you can wash a load with fresh soil. It gives good washing results ina short time.

1) The pressure and the temperature of the water, the variations of the mains supply, theoptions and the quantity of dishes can change the values.

5.2 Information for testinstitutesFor all the necessary information for testperformance, send an email to:

[email protected] down the product number (PNC)that is on the rating plate.

6. SETTINGS6.1 Programme selection modeand user modeWhen the appliance is in programmeselection mode it is possible to set aprogramme and to enter the user mode.In user mode, the following settingscan be changed:• The activation or the deactivation of

the acoustic signal for end ofprogramme.

• The activation or deactivation of therinse aid empty notification.

• The level of rinse aid according to therequired dosage.

These settings will be saved until youchange them again.

How to set the programmeselection modeThe appliance is in programme selectionmode when the programme indicator

is on and the display shows theprogramme duration.When you activate the appliance, usuallyit is in programme selection mode.However, if this does not happen, youcan set the programme selection modein the following way:Press and hold Reset until the applianceis in programme selection mode.

6.2 The rinse aid dispenserThe rinse aid helps to dry the disheswithout streaks and stains.The rinse aid is automatically releasedduring the hot rinse phase.You can set the released quantity ofrinse aid between level 1 (minimumquantity) and level 6 (maximum quantity).Level 0 will deactivate the rinse aiddispenser and no rinse aid will bereleased.Factory setting: level 4.

How to set the rinse aid levelThe appliance must be in programmeselection mode.1. To enter the user mode, press and

hold simultaneously Delay and XtraDry until the indicators ,

and start to flash andthe display is blank.

2. Press TimeManager.• The indicators and go

off.• The indicator

continues to flash.• The display shows the current

setting: e.g. = level 4.– The levels of rinse aid are

from 0A to 6A.

– Level 0 = no rinse aid isreleased.

3. Press TimeManager again andagain to change the setting.

4. Press the on/off button to confirm thesetting.

6.3 The rinse aid emptynotificationWhen rinse aid chamber is empty, therinse aid indicator is turned on notifyingto refill rinse aid. If you are using multi-tabs containing rinse aid and you aresatisfied with the drying result, you candeactivate the notification for refillingrinse aid. However, we recommend thatyou always use rinse aid for best dryingperformance.If you use standard detergent or multi-tablets without rinse aid, activate thenotification to keep the rinse aid refillindicator active.

How to deactivate the rinse aidempty notificationThe appliance must be in programmeselection mode.1. To enter the user mode, press and

hold simultaneously Delay and XtraDry until the indicators ,

and start to flash andthe display is blank.

2. Press MyFavourite.• The indicators and

go off.• The indicator continues to

flash.• The display shows the current

setting: = the rinse aid emptynotification is always activated(factory setting).

3. Press MyFavourite to change thesetting. = the rinse aid empty notification is

deactivated.4. Press the on/off button to confirm the

setting.

6.4 Acoustic signalsAcoustic signals sound when amalfunction of the appliance occurs. It isnot possible to deactivate these acousticsignals.There is also an acoustic signal thatsounds when the programme iscompleted. By default this acoustic signalis deactivated but it is possible toactivate it.

How to activate the acousticsignal for the end ofprogrammeThe appliance must be in programmeselection mode.1. To enter the user mode, press and

hold simultaneously Delay and XtraDry until the indicators ,

and start to flash andthe display is blank.

2. Press Delay• The indicators and

go off.• The indicator continues to

flash.• The display shows the current

setting: = Acoustic signal off.3. Press Delay to change the setting.

= Acoustic signal on.4. Press the on/off button to confirm the

setting.

6.5 MyFavouriteWith this option you can set and save theprogramme that you use morefrequently.You can only save 1 programme. A newsetting cancels the previous one.

How to save the MyFavouriteprogramme1. Set the programme that you want to

saveYou can also set applicable optionstogether with the programme.

How to set the MyFavouriteprogrammePress MyFavourite.

• The indicators that are related tothe MyFavourite programme andoptions come on.

• The display shows the duration ofthe programme.

7. OPTIONSDesired options must beactivated every time beforeyou start a programme.It is not possible to activateor deactivate options while aprogramme is running.

Not all options arecompatible with each other.If you have selected noncompatible options, theappliance will automaticallydeactivate one or more ofthem. Only the indicators ofthe options still active willstay on.

7.1 XtraDryActivate this option when you want toboost the drying performance. With theuse of this option, the duration of someprogrammes, water consumption and thelast rinse temperature can be affected.The option XtraDry is not a permanentoption and must be selected at everycycle.

How to activate XtraDryPress XtraDry.The related indicator comes on.

7.2 TimeManagerThis option increases the pressure andthe temperature of the water. Thewashing and the drying phases areshorter.

The total programme duration decreasesby approximately 50%.The washing results are the same aswith the normal programme duration. Thedrying results can decrease.

How to activate TimeManagerPress TimeManager, the relatedindicator comes on.The display shows the updatedprogramme duration.If the option is not applicable to theprogramme:• The programme bar does not come

on.• The related indicator does not come

on or it flashes quickly for a fewseconds and then goes off.

7.3 XtraPowerThis option increases the water pressurein the prewash and washing phases.The washing results are very good alsowith heavy soiled loads.

How to activate XtraPowerPress Option until the indicator comes on.If the option is not applicable to theprogramme, the related indicator doesnot come on or it flashes quickly for a fewseconds and then goes off.The display shows the updatedprogramme duration.

8. BEFORE FIRST USE1. Fill the rinse aid dispenser.2. Open the water tap.3. Start a program to remove any

processing residuals that can still beinside the appliance. Do not usedetergent and do not load thebaskets.

8.1 How to fill the rinse aiddispenser

CAUTION!Only use rinse aidspecifically designed fordishwashers.

1. Open the lid (C).2. Fill the dispenser (B) until the rinse

aid reaches the marking ''MAX''.3. Remove the spilled rinse aid with an

absorbent cloth to prevent too muchfoam.

4. Close the lid. Make sure that the lidlocks into position.

Fill the rinse aid dispenserwhen the indicator (A)becomes clear.

If you use multi-tablets andthe drying performance issatisfactory, the rinse aidrefill indication can bedisabled.We recommend to alwaysuse rinse aid for betterdrying performance, also incombination with multi-tablets containing rinsingagent.

9. DAILY USE1. Open the water tap.2. Press the on/off button to activate the

appliance.Make sure that the appliance is inprogramme selection mode.

• If the rinse aid empty message isshown fill the rinse aid dispenser.

3. Load the baskets.4. Add the detergent.5. Set and start the correct programme

for the type of load and the degree ofsoil.

CAUTION!Only use detergentspecifically designed fordishwashers.

1. Press the release button (A) to openthe lid (C).

2. Put the detergent, in powder ortablets, in the compartment (B).

3. If the programme has a prewashphase, put a small quantity ofdetergent on the inner part of theappliance door.

4. Close the lid. Make sure that the lidlocks into position.

9.2 Setting and starting aprogramme

The Auto Off functionThis function decreases energyconsumption by deactivatingautomatically the appliance when it is notoperating.The function comes into operation:• 5 minutes after the completion of the

programme.• After 5 minutes if the programme has

not started.

Starting a programme1. Press the on/off button to activate the

appliance. Make sure that theappliance is in programme selectionmode.

2. Press Program again and again untilthe indicator of the programme youwant to select comes on.• If you want to select the

MyFavourite programme, press MyFavourite.

• The display shows theprogramme duration.

• The door indicator is on.3. Set the applicable options.4. Close the appliance door.5. Press Start to start the programme.

Only the programme bar and theprogramme duration are visible in thedisplayIf you want to see the programmesettings, press any button except for theon/off button. The indicators of therunning programme and options come onfor a few seconds.

Starting a programme withdelay start1. Set a programme.2. Press Delay again and again until

the display shows the delay time youwant to set (from 1 to 24 hours).

Only the delay time is visible in thedisplay.3. Close the appliance door.4. Press Start to start the countdown.

• The delay indicator comes on.• The countdown starts to decrease

with steps of 1 hour. Only the lasthour will decrease with steps of 1minute.

If you want to see theprogramme settings, pressany button except for theon/off button. The indicatorsof the programme andoptions come on for a fewseconds.

When the countdown is completed, theprogramme starts.

Opening the door while theappliance operatesIf you open the door while a programmeis running, the appliance stops. It mayaffect the energy consumption and theprogramme duration. When you closethe door, the appliance continues fromthe point of interruption.

If the door is opened formore than 30 secondsduring the drying phase, therunning programme will end.

Cancelling the delay start whilethe countdown operatesWhen you cancel the delay start youhave to set the programme and optionsagain.1. Open the appliance door.2. Press and hold Reset until the

appliance is in programme selectionmode.

Cancelling the programme1. Open the appliance door.2. Press and hold Reset until the

appliance is in programme selectionmode.

Make sure that there is detergent in thedetergent dispenser before you start anew programme.

End of the programmeWhen the programme is completed thedisplay shows 0:00. All the segments ofthe programme bar are on with fixedlight.All buttons are inactive except for theon/off button.1. Press the on/off button or wait for the

Auto Off function to automaticallydeactivate the appliance.If you open the door before theactivation of Auto Off, the applianceis automatically deactivated.

2. Close the water tap.

10. HINTS AND TIPS10.1 GeneralThe following hints will ensure optimalcleaning and drying results in daily useand also help to protect the environment.• Remove larger residues of food from

the dishes into the waste bin.• Do not pre-rinse dishes by hand.

When needed, use the prewashprogramme (if available) or select aprogramme with a prewash phase.

• Always use the whole space of thebaskets.

• When loading the appliance, makesure that the dishes can becompletely reached and washed bythe water released from the spray armnozzles. Make sure that items do nottouch or cover each other.

• You can use dishwasher detergentand rinse aid separately or you canuse the multi-tablets. Follow theinstructions written on the packaging.

• Select the programme according tothe type of load and degree of soil.With the ECO programme you havethe most efficient use of water andenergy consumption for crockery andcutlery with normal soil.

10.2 Using rinse aid anddetergent• Only use rinse aid and detergent for

dishwasher. Other products cancause damage to the appliance.

• Detergent tablets do not fully dissolvewith short programs. To preventdetergent residues on the tableware,we recommend that you use thetablets with long programs.

• Do not use more than the correctquantity of detergent. Refer to theinstructions on the detergentpackaging.

10.3 Loading the baskets• Only use the appliance to wash items

that are dishwasher-safe.• Do not put in the appliance items

made of wood, horn, aluminium,pewter and copper.

• Do not put in the appliance items thatcan absorb water (sponges,household cloths).

• Remove remaining food from theitems.

• Make soft the remaining burned foodon the items.

• Put hollow items (cups, glasses andpans) with the opening down.

• Make sure that cutlery and dishes donot bond together. Mix spoons withother cutlery.

• Make sure that glasses do not touchother glasses.

• Put small items in the cutlery basket.• Put light items in the upper basket.

Make sure that the items do notmove.

• Make sure that the spray arm canmove freely before you start aprogramme.

10.4 Before starting aprogrammeMake sure that:• The filters are clean and correctly

installed.• The spray arms are not clogged.• There is dishwasher rinse aid (unless

you use multi- tablets).

• The position of the items in thebaskets is correct.

• The programme is applicable for thetype of load and for the degree of soil.

• The correct quantity of detergent isused.

At the end of the programwater can still remain on thesides and on the door of theappliance.

2. Remove the filter (C) out of filter (B). 3. Remove the flat filter (A).

4. Wash the filters.

5. Make sure that there are no residuesof food or soil in or around the edgeof the sump.

6. Put back in place the flat filter (A).Make sure that it is correctlypositioned under the 2 guides.

7. Reassemble the filters (B) and (C).

8. Put back the filter (B) in the flat filter(A). Turn it clockwise until it locks.

CAUTION!An incorrect position of thefilters can cause badwashing results and damageto the appliance.

11.2 Cleaning the upper sprayarmWe recommend to clean regularly theupper spray arm to avoid soil to clog theholes.Clogged holes can cause unsatisfactorywashing results.1. Pull out the upper basket.2. To disengage the spray arm from the

basket, press the spray arm upwardsin the direction indicated by the lowerarrow and simultaneously turn itclockwise.

3. Wash the spray arm under runningwater. Use a thin pointed tool, e.g.toothpick, to remove particles of soilfrom the holes.

4. To engage again the spray arm tothe basket, press the spray armupwards in the direction indicated bythe lower arrow and simultaneouslyturn it counterclockwise until it locksinto place.

11.3 External cleaning• Clean the appliance with a moist soft

cloth.• Only use neutral detergents.• Do not use abrasive products,

abrasive cleaning pads or solvents.

11.4 Internal cleaning• Carefully clean the appliance,

including the rubber gasket of thedoor, with a soft damp cloth.

• If you regularly use short durationprogrammes, these can leavedeposits of grease and limescaleinside the appliance. To prevent this,we recommend to run long durationprogrammes at least 2 times permonth.

• To maintain the performance of yourappliance at its best, we recommendto use monthly a specific cleaningproduct for dishwashers. Followcarefully the instructions on thepackaging of the product.

12. TROUBLESHOOTINGIf the appliance does not start or it stopsduring operation. Before you contact anAuthorised Service Centre, check if youcan solve the problem by yourself withthe help of the information in the table.

• The release quantity of rinse aid is too much. Ad‐just the rinse aid level to a lower level.

• The quantity of detergent is too much.

There are stains and dry wa‐ter drops on glasses anddishes.

Traces of rust on cutlery. • There is too much salt in the water used for wash‐ing. Refer to "The water softener".

• Silver and stainless steel cutlery were placed to‐gether. Avoid to put silver and stainless steel itemsclose together.

There are residues of deter‐gent in the dispenser at theend of the programme.

• The detergent tablet got stuck in the dispenser andtherefore was not completely washed away by wa‐ter.

• Water cannot wash away the detergent from thedispenser. Make sure that the spray arm is notblocked or clogged.

• Make sure that items in the baskets do not impedethe lid of the detergent dispenser from opening.

Odours inside the appliance. • Refer to "Internal cleaning".

Limescale deposits on thetableware, on the tub and onthe inside of the door.

Dull, discoloured or chippedtableware.

5. Install the appliance under thekitchen counter.

Adjusting the level of theapplianceA correct adjustment of the level of theappliance allows the door to close andseal correctly.If the door does not close correctly,loosen or tighten the adjustable feet tolevel the appliance.

14.2 Water connection

Water inlet hoseConnect the inlet hose to a water tapwith an external BSP thread spout of3/4''.For best washing performance it isrecommended to connect the applianceto a cold water supply.Energy savings can be made byconnecting the appliance to a Solarwater system and using economyoptions, however the water temperaturemust not exceed 60° C.Inlet water supply• Water pressure: 800 kPa max - 50

Water drain hoseThe highest point of the drain hose mustbe no more than 600 mm from the floorand must have a continuous fall to theplumbing connection.The drain hose can be lengthened usingadditional lengths and connectors. Thesemust be purchased from ElectroluxSpare Parts. The extension length mustnot exceed 2 metres.The drain hose must be free ofobstructions.Remove the sink plug when theappliance drains the water to preventthat the water goes back into theappliance.The appliance has a security feature toprevent dirty water going back into theappliance. If the spigot of the sink has anon-return valve, this valve can causethe appliance to drain incorrectly. removethe non-return valve.If you connect the water drain hose to atrap spigot under the sink, remove theplastic membrane. – normal wear and tear– power surges, electrical storm
