May 2016 Activities - Continued

Site Characterization Activities • Site-wide monthly groundwater elevation measurements were obtained May 24-25 for all monitor

wells. • A Pit Lake water elevation of 4,235.05 feet amsl was recorded on May 26 from the pressure

transducer, an increase of 0.57 feet since April 26, 2016. The pit lake elevation has risen 1.41 feet since May 26, 2015.

• A signed access agreement from the owner of DW-214 was received and the residence was added to the Domestic Well Program in May 2016 (new owners requested to be included in the Domestic Well Program because neighboring residences were included).

• There were no changes to the Bottled Water Program in May 2016. • Completed and transmitted the Annual 2015 Groundwater Monitoring Report (GMR) on May 27.

Initiated the compilation of data for inclusion in the 10 2016 GMR. • Initiated the compilation of data for inclusion in the 1 Q 2016 Domestic Well Monitoring Report

(DWMR). • Initiated the preparation of a technical memorandum describing proposed modifications to the

Site-wide groundwater monitoring program. • Continued responses to EPA comments dated April 11, 2016 on the OU-3 Human Health Risk

Assessment Technical Memorandum (Tech Memo). • Continued to develop the OU-3 Human Health Risk Assessment Tech Memo no. 2. • Continued the development of responses to EPA and stakeholder comments dated April 5, 2016

on the Draft Initial Screening of Remedial Alternatives Tech Memo dated December 2, 2015. • Continued developing responses to EPA comments dated February 11, 2016 on the Background

Groundwater Quality Assessment - Revision 2 (revised BGQA) dated July 2, 2015. • Continued to compile information for inclusion in the OU-1 RI Report. • Continued to compile soil classification and XRF data collected during OU-7 Phase 1 field

sampling activities, and started to compile the analytical data received from the project laboratory. • Re-sampled several OU-7 locations on May 4 due to laboratory mishandling of the previously

collected samples. • Continued planning for the implementation of the OU-4a field program including the construction

of two drill pads located within the evaporation ponds. • Routine database management activities in support of Site investigations and monitoring

activities.

Planned June/July 2016 Activities

Site Security and O&M Activities - Continued • Continue routine Site O&M, security and bird deterrent activities. • Continue FMS pond sampling for TDS analyses and EC measurements.

Site Characterization Activities • Continue groundwater elevation and pit lake level measurements, and meteorological monitoring. • Perform the 20 2016 domestic well monitoring event. The number of domestic wells requiring

monitoring will decrease as properties continue to be connected to the Yerington municipal system, and domestic wells are taken out of service.

• Continue the Bottled Water Program. ARC will be requesting approval from EPA to curtail the Bottled Water Program as properties that are currently receiving bottled water continue to be connected to the Yerington municipal system.

• Continue the compilation of data for inclusion in the 10 2016 GMR and 10 2016 DWMR.
