How do we start the day? Place your backpacks in the Side Closet. Make

sure you grab your Purple folder, agenda planner, snack, and lunch (if you have it).

Walk over to the Sign In Binder, and Write your name on the page with the day’s date.

Regardless if we had homework the night before or not, each student will place his or her Purple folder in the Purple basket next to the Sign in Binder. This way, I do not have to disrupt the class for Notes or Money.

How do we start the day?

Walk to the “What will you have?” board and place your name card under one of the two choices for

lunch. (If you brought your lunch, leave your name card in the middle. Place your lunch in the lunch bin under the board. )

Sit down quietly and begin working on your Morning Work that will be written on the whiteboard.

Notes from Home or Money

Please send any school related money or notes in the Purple folder.

Students will place Purple folders in the Purple basket everyday. Regardless if there was homework or not.

Please place any money in an envelope with the student’s name on the front and label what the money is

being used for on the front.

Lunch (What Will You Have?)

After you have signed the Sign In Binder, you will make your selection for lunch.

Take your name card out of the middle pocket chart and place it under Choice 1’s pocket chart or Choice 2’s pocket chart. If you brought your lunch, leave your name card in the middle and place your lunch in the bin located under the board.

The menu will be posted on the board and the Choices will be labeled on the pocket chart.

Sign In Binder

Every morning before you begin your morning work, you are responsible for signing the Sign In Binder.

This binder is located at the table beside the side closet.

Please make sure you sign the binder, this is how I take attendance.

Are you late?If your child arrives to school after 7:55, this is

considered late.

If your child is late three times, this will count as an unexcused absence.

Our time in school is precious! Please make sure your child arrives on time so they do not miss any instructional time!

AbsencesOur School system recognizes two types of

absences:excused absencesunexcused absences

Absences are excused when the school is given a

doctor’s note, parent’s note, or school field trip. (Work missed will be given to the students for full

credit)

Absences are unexcused when the school is not given any notes or excuse.

(Work missed will be given half credit)

Please review over the absence policy in the School

Handbook!

Until We Meet AgainAt 2:35, we will begin to start preparing to go

home.

We will get out our agenda planners and write down our homework or any upcoming due dates or tests.

We will place our Purple notebooks on our desk and make sure, we have everything before we pack up!

Each section will be called on to collect their backpacks, coats, etc from the side closet.

The students will place folders in their backpacks, along with any other material needed.

Until We Meet Again (Part 2)The student will make sure his/her surrounding area is tidy

At 2:45, we will line up as a class and prepare for dismissal.

We will make stops at: Gym: School Bus Riders Car Rider Foyer: Car Riders Lunchroom: After School Care

It could happen.. Let’s be prepared!Our School usually has Early Dismissals for a few

reasons:1. Half-Days (Marked on the school’s calendar)2. Bad Weather

If it happens:Please pay close attention to the local weatherA school calling post message will be sent out to designated phone numbers (Please make sure your number is accurate!)An email will also be sent out by the School Cast(Please make sure your email is correct!)Student’s will follow regular dismissal routines

Homework Homework is given every Tuesday and Thursday.

Student’s will place their homework in their Purple folders

(Reading Logs will always be in the folders as well)

AgendaThanks to a grant, Good Elementary School is now able

to provide Agenda planners for each student.

Before we begin to prepare for dismissal, students will be able to write down homework or any upcoming due dates or test in the planner.

I will initial the planner each day, please do the same each night for your child.

Reading LogReading Logs will be sent home

every day in the Purple folder.Each student will read for at least

15 minutesParents should observe the student

reading (let them read out loud to you)

Parents should sign the reading log

I will check the reading log daily!

Turning in Late HomeworkFull credit on late homework can

only be given if there was an excused absence.

Each day that homework is late, 3 points will be deducted.

Make Up homework will be given to the child once they return to school. They have three days to complete and return it!

The Fabulous Life of…Each week, I will select a student to

be our Super Star Student.

Their picture and facts about them will be displayed on the Super Star Student bulletin board.

It’s your Birthday!?!Each student will be recognized on

their birthday.They will be given a certificate by

me.

If you would like to do a special snack, you can. Make sure you contact be so I can plan accordingly and notify you

of any allergies!

Surfing in to 3rd grade partyAt the end of the school year, we

will have luau party. At this time, we will visit a 3rd grade

classroom where we can ask questions about third grade.

We will have a special snack after we visit the classroom (beach themed).

Parents are more than welcome to help with the celebration!

It’s a Celebration!Holiday Party

Before we leave for Winter Break, we will have a Holiday party. We will make a fun craft and eat a special snack. (If you would like to send something, please do. Make sure it follows the school policy on snack).

Valentine Party

On Valentine’s Day, we will have a special snack. Students will also have the option of giving Valentine’s Cards to eachstudent. You may bring a special snack. Make sure it follows the school policies.

Medication ProceduresMedication must be given to the

nurse by a parent.

Please notify the school nurse of any updates on allergies!

Please Come Visit!You are more than welcome to come eat lunch

with your child!

(If you bring your lunch, make sure it follows the school guidelines!)

If you want to come visit our classroom, please notify me and I will make sure it will be an appropriate time to visit!

Before you eat lunch or visit our class, make

sure you sign in with the main office. Visitors must wear a Visitor’s badge at all times.

Helping OutIf you want to volunteer in our classroom, please notify me

and I will be in touch with you!We need always need parents to help us with:

• Special Activities (crafts, book fair, etc)

• Field Trips

Classroom Rules1. Respect classmates, teachers,

and school property.2. Keep hands, feet, and objects to

yourself.3. Listen while speakers are

addressing the classroom.

Keys to Success!Everyday, each student will start out with their

clothespin on the green key.If the student misbehaves or breaks one of our

classroom rules, the student’s clothespin will be moved to the yellow

key. If the student breaks the rule a second time, the student’s clothespin will be moved to the

red key. I will write green, yellow, or red by each day’s agenda

ConsequencesFirst time: Verbal WarningSecond time: Clothespin moves to

yellow keyThird time: Clothespin moves to red

key. Parent’s will be notified by agenda and email.

Fourth time: Referral to the Principal’s office.

Severe Disruption: Will be sent tothe office immediately.

Rewards!Here are the different rewards you

will be given throughout the year:

• Verbal Praise

• Time to read, play on computer, or visit a friend

• Visit to the Treasure Box for a fun treat!

Communication is the key!As your child’s teacher, I will do my

best to inform you of your child’s behavior in the classroom!

Please make sure your contact information is updated so that I may contact you if needed!

Groups!We have three different groups in

our classroom: the green group, the blue group, and the red group!

Groups will meet regularly during Reading.

During group time we will:talk quietly respect everyone in our groupmove quickly when changingcenters

During Group ExpectationsI expect you to:

• work quietly with members

• respect membersIf a question arises, consult your

group members. If no one knows the answer, consult another group. If the other group does not know, ask may then ask me.

It’s Center Time!During reading time, these are the

different centers we will use.

• Independent reading

• Buddy Reading

• Fluency Reading Drills

• Spelling Drills

• Computer Games

• And many more!

It’s Center Time!Students will:

• quickly change centers when they hear our class bell ring.

• bring required material going to each center.

• make sure the center is ready to go for the next group.

Independent TimeDuring this time, I except you to

work by yourself and remain in your seat.

If you have questions, you may quietly ask one of your neighbors.

If you finish early, you may look at the “What can I do now?” poster.

Classroom PropertyWe as a class are responsible for our

everyday materials.For every desk section, I have a

caddy with supplies we will need for the day.

I will have sharpened pencils ready for each caddy everyday. Extras will be included. This way, class is not interrupted.

Treat all the classroom books with care!

Classroom PropertyComputers will be used for centers and AR

test.Leave headphones attached to the

computer.If you are caught being off task on the

computer, your privileges will be taken away until you can prove that you can be trusted again.

Art supplies will be placed in caddies the day that they are being used.

Lets keep our property nice all year so that we may use it all year!

BorrowingIf you need to borrow something

from your neighbor, please ask them nicely.

After you are doing, return the item and thank them.

Treat the items with respect!

My Desk!My desk is a very special area to

me.

Please do not take things from my desk and do not walk behind my desk.

Thank you for respecting my property!

RestroomStudents are given 4 restroom

breaks during the day.

You may ask to use the restroom only if it’s an emergency.

(Parents: please inform me if you think your child needs more breaks!)

Water!During restroom breaks, students

are also allowed to get water.Students are also allowed to have a

water bottle at their desk as along as it’s in a container with a bottle top.

*This is a privilege. If problems arise, I will revoke this privilege.

GES Weekly FoldersWeekly folders will be sent home every

Wednesday. This folders are orange and have the school

logo placed on them.These folders will have the weekly/monthly

newsletter, graded assignments, progress reports, etc.

You may keep the graded assignments at home. I have the originals on file.

Initial on the Parent’s Initial sheet and return the folder.

Purple FoldersPurple folders will be sent home

everyday.These folders will have homework,

unfinished class work, and reading logs.

Please return the folder everyday!

Keeping Up with Ms. CzesklebaWeekly Newsletters

Every week, I will send home newsletters. These will be in the Orange folder. This lets you know what we are learning for the week!

Monthly NewslettersEvery month, the GES will send a Monthly newsletter home. This informs you of school-wide information. This will be in the Orange folder!

ConferencesWe will have at least two conferences during the school year! I have the dates available posted online! Please let me know if you are

unavailable to meet on those days!
