2 Overview

2.1 About This Document

This document provides guidelines for the configuration of eLTE2.3 wireless access products.

It introduces Huawei's current supply capability to marketing and supply chain personnel and

describes the components and configuration principles and instructions of eLTE2.3 wireless

access products.

2.2 Purpose This document is for internal use only. It provides instructions for actual sales and shipment.

2.3 Product Features

Platformization and serialization

The eLTE2.3 wireless access CPEs are based on the same platform. They support updates,

quick customization, and quick delivery.

The outdoor CPE adopts architecture of router plus modem, the two of which are connected

through a standard mini PCIe interface. By applying modems of different standards and bands

can be selected, we can ensure the quick delivery of product series and update of the wireless

access technology used.

Page 8: ELTE2.3 Wireless Access Device EA660 Configuration GuideV1.0(20140414)
Page 9: ELTE2.3 Wireless Access Device EA660 Configuration GuideV1.0(20140414)

3 Configuration Overview

3.1 Device Configurability The eLTE2.3 wireless access CPEs are sold by set. Customers can choose CPE hosts with

different standards and bands, as well as different accessories. The CPE hosts cannot be

configured during sales. This guide is used mainly to provide lists of products that can be

quoted and shipped.

3.2 Introduction to the CPEs

3.2.1 Introduction to Wireless Access CPEs

The eA660 series wireless products are LTE outdoor CPEs. They can be deployed outdoors to

convert between LTE wireless data and Ethernet data.

The eA660 series support LTE R8. They provide both wired and wireless Internet access and

the following services:

Data services

Security services

Maintenance and management

Data routing

Figure 3-1 shows the appearance of an eA660 outdoor CPE.

Page 10: ELTE2.3 Wireless Access Device EA660 Configuration GuideV1.0(20140414)

Figure 3-1 eA660 outdoor CPE

The eA660 mainly features the following:

Support for LTE and band customization

Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and Network Address Translation (NAT)

IEEE 802.11 b/g/n WLAN(unavailable when LTE works at B40)

Routing behind MS

Firewall functions

Support for Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux, and MAC

Compatible with IE, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari

Management over the web UI

Device management using TR-069

Built-in LTE high-gain antennas for great portability

External antennas ports

LED indicators that show device status

Exposed antenna ports

3.3 Configuration Principles and Instructions The CPE hosts themselves do not have configuration items. This document is used to help

realize the quotation and shipment of wireless access CPEs though the configurator

(CFG) without site survey.

The CFG lists the CPE host standards and bands, as well as accessory types and

quantities, which provides reference for quotation and shipment. The accessories selection

should be based on market demands.

Page 11: ELTE2.3 Wireless Access Device EA660 Configuration GuideV1.0(20140414)

Promptly and accurately convey product customization requirements to the headquarters

through an RM workflow (http://rm.huawei.com) and communicate with the headquarters to

determine the customization fees. The customization fees are manually added to the

configurator.

The configurator shows the sales parts and their unique list prices. For different projects, the

discount may vary. Refer to the supply chain opinions during contract review to

confirm whether the order quantity meets the order condition.

The attachment below lists the types of the

power cable accepted by varied countries.

You can learn from the list that many

countries accept many types of power cable.

So the exact type should be decided by site

survey or the custom’s demand. if the exact

type cannot be confirmed for some reason,

the local sales can choose the first type

accepted by the country in the list, the local

sales should accept the risk of wrong

delivery.
