Andy Retires
Andy Gildersleeve, Director of Development and Construction, retired in August after
sixteen years of dedicated service to Elmhurst. Andy was instrumental in the development of more than a dozen Elmhurst properties, most
notably the Airside Business Park in Moon Township and the Fifth & Craig Building and
Schenley Place in Oakland.
Summit Drive Business Park
One of Elmhurst’s current developments is Summit Drive Business Park, located in North Fayette
Township. With all site work complete, the property is primed for construction.

works in progressConstruction on the DoubleTree Cranberry (above) is progressing. The ballroom and meeting rooms were completed back in February, and the exterior main entrance underwent a significant facelift in May. Currently, Zeus Construction is working to transform the outdated atrium into a modern, mixed-use space—complete with a restaurant and bar. The final touch, wrapping up this complicated project, will be the guestroom renovations.
Over in Oakland, Schenley Place (cover page) is undergoing a number of Tenant Improvement projects. A major tech innovator moved into the Class A building on March 1st after customizing two floors. The building’s other major tenant is the University of Pittsburgh; the Department of Finance opened offices at the beginning of July, while two other departments should be operating out of Schenley by the end of August.
Newbury Office Park
In July Elmhurst acquired a six-acre site for the development of a 100,000 square foot office building. Located south of Pittsburgh along I-79, Newbury will be part of an 88-acre mixed-use retail site.
