A Heritage of InnovationELANTAS PDG, Inc. was founded in November 1919 in St. Louis, Missouri as The P.D. George Company by Pericles Demetrius “P.D.” George.
The initial focus of the company was creating resin products for the paint and coatings industry, but we ha ve been a supplier of resins for electrical insulation since the beginnings of that industry in the 1920s.
Today we are the premier global supplier of specialty polymers for the electrical and electronic industries.
Electrical Insulation Products For Every ApplicationP.D. George himself coined the phrase “The Product with a Pedigree” to describe the superior technology employed in his products. That attitude continues throughout the company today.
We offer our customers the broadest range of products for electrical insulation. We manufacture
wire enamels, impregnating resins (varnishes), potting compounds and
casting resins for motor, transformer, generator, and other electrical and electronic applications.
A State-of-the-Art Production FacilityELANTAS PDG, Inc. has been located on our current 20 acre site in St. Louis, Missouri since 1935. Our site accommodates the largest capacity for reacted synthetic resins and specialty blends in the electrical insulation industry.
Our parent company, ALTANA AG, continues to invest to make ELANTAS PDG a world class manufacturing facility.
The most recent addition is our state of the art blending facility. This new building, dedicated in October of 2008, allows us to manufacture a wide variety of blended products to meet the needs of our customers.

ELANTAS Electrical Insulation DivisionOur company grew both organically and through acquisitions until 1996 when we were purchased by ALTANA AG, a specialty chemical company headquartered in Wesel Germany, and webecame part of ALTANA’s Electrical Insulation Division.
In 2007 the Division was renamed to ELANTAS Electrical Insulation and the St. Louis site became known as ELANTAS PDG. Our parent company has continued our history of strategic growth through acquisition and investment in organic projects.
