Day

01

Meet on arrival at Dhaka International Airport and

transfer to hotel. Today's sightseeing tour includes the

four hundred years old Mogul fort, Lalbag Kella. The

Tomb of Paribibi inside the fort is a remarkable bled of

Mogul and Persian architecture. The tour continuous to

the Dhakeswari Temple first built in the 12th century

AD. Next comes Curzon Hall Complex - a blend of

colonial and indigenous architecture. Opposite to the

Curzon Hall Complex stands more than 100 years old

massive governor house, now being used by the Department of Justice. And

then "Sangsad Bhaban' - the Parliament House, one of the wonder of the

modern architecture of the world.

Dhaka Bogra

Early morning leave Dhaka for Bogra by road (5-hour

drive), check in the hotel; after lunch visit Vasu Vihara

- a cluster of Buddhist monasteries built in the 7th

century AD - now a ruin. Gautama Buddha stayed at

Vasu Vihara for 6 months when he came to Bangladesh

to preach Buddhism. Next visit the ruins of the

Mahasthangarh Citadel. An ancient and medieval civilization in and around the

citadel from 5th century BC to 16th century AD until a great fire destroyed

Mohasthangarh. More than 150 ancient Buddhist ruins are scattered around the

citadel. Next visit the ruins of Gokul Medh - a Buddhist temple built in the 7th

century and later converted into a Hindu temple.

03

Bogra - Paharpur Rangpur

Early in the morning leave Bogra and proceed to

Paharpur Mahavihara by road. Paharpur Mahavihara or

the Great Monastery of Paharpur, now a ruin, is the

single largest Buddhist monastery in the world in terms

of acreage. It was built in 8th century AD. in the inner

courtyard of the monastery stands the largest tantric

cruciform Buddhist stupa in the world. Next visit

Jagaddala Vihara - one of the five most famous Buddhsit learning centers in the

ancient world. Jagaddala was built in 11th century by King Rampala. After

visiting all these monasteries drive to Rangpur and check in a hotel.

04

Rangpur Rajshahi

Morning Visit Kantaji Terracotta Temple - an epic in

terracotta bas-reliefs. Kantaji Temple was built in the

middle of 18th century. The great earthquake of 1897

with the intensity of 8.5 on the Richter Scale destroyed

its four turrets. This three storied chariot looking Hindu

temple is the best example of the terracotta temple in

the world. Next visit Rangpur Rajbari and Kali temple.

In the afternoon drive to Rajshahi. Check in a hotel.

Over night at Rahshahi.

Rajshahi Dhaka

Morning Visit Rajshai Barendra Museum. The Museum has a

very rich collection of 5th to 13th century sculptures of

black basalt, sand stone etc. One of the most remarkable

sculptures is the 'Ardha nari, ardha nor' statue of 9th

century. This black basalt deity is half woman and half man.

The museum was extablished in the year of 1912. Now it is

a research museum under the Rajshai University.

In the afternoon drive to back to Dhaka. Check in a hotel.

Over night in Dhaka.

Dhaka Stimongol

Morning leave Dhaka for Srimongol - the tea capital, a

four hours' drive. Up on arrival at Srimongol check in a

hotel/guest house. In the afternoon visit Lauhachhara

tropical forest and trek through the forest. This is a

lush green forest all-round the year.

Overnight at Srimongol.

Day

07

Srimongol - Mainamati - Chittagong

Morning visit tea garden. Watch how the tea women

collect two leaves and a bud. In the afternoon leave for

Chittagong. On the way visit Mainamati. Monamoti was

the capital of the ancient Buddhist kingdom, Samatata,

from 5th century to 11th century. The place is dotted

with more than 55 ancient Buddhist ruins of large and

small scales. In the begining, in Mainamoti, we will visit

the ruins of the Salban Vihara - a large Buddhist monastery with a stupa in its

innner courtyard, built in the 6th century AD. The vihara has a very interesting

site museum. Afterwards we will visit the ruins of the Itakhola Mura - two 8th

century structure, one is the temple and the other one, monastery. Next comes

the Rupban Mura - another stupa with monastery built in the 9th century. Next

we will go to see the ruins of a very large Buddhist Stupa of 10the century nown

as the Ranir Banglow. During the Second World War all the Buddhiat structurs in

Maninamoti were partly demolished to build a military aerodrome.

Reach Chittagong in the evening. And check in a hotel.

Chittagong - Rangamati

Morning a short Chittagong City sightseeing, and drive

to Rangamati - a hill district of Bangladesh. Check in a

hotel. visit Rangamati Trival Museum. In the afternoon

go for a boating in the Kaptai Lake. Lunch in a small

island in the lake. Then proceed to Shuvalong and

return from there. Enjoy mesmerizing sunset on the

lake.

Over night at Rangamati.

09

Rangamati - Chittagong - Dhaka - Mongla

Morning leave Rangamati for Chittagong. On arrival

transfer to the Chittagong airport and fly back to

Dhaka. In the late afternoon aboard the paddle

steamer for the journey to Mongla.

Overnight on boat.

Mongla - Sundarbans Mangrove Forest

After about 24 hours journey through rivers, which

gives an unique opportunity to enjoy the lush green

scenic beauty of riverine Bangladesh, arrive in the late

afternoon at Mongla and board on the tourist boat for

the journey to the forest. Proceed toward the forest

through numerous mighty rivers, narrow canals and

creeks. Besides the Royal Bengal Tiger, the forest is the

home to the spotted and barking deer, wild boar, rhesus monkey, estuarine

crocodile, otter, dolphin, birds etc. The tigers of the Sundarbans Forest are the

most ferocious, the most shrewd and evasive animal on earth. The migratory

Himalayan bees produce more than one hundred tons of honey every year in

the Sundarbans. More than 30 unique species of mangrove plants and ferns

grow in this forest.

11

Kotka (Sundarban Forest)

Arrive at Kotka Forest Station early in the morning. In

the morning trekking through the forest by country

boat; after the breakfast trekking afoot through the

forest up to the beach. This trekking of about three

kilometers through the grassland and forest, which

ends at a virgin sea beach, is an experience of the

lifetime for those who really love nature. Leave Kotka for Mongla in the evening.

Kotka - Mongla - Dhaka

Early in the morning reach Mongla and drive to Dhaka.

If the return flight is on the same day then transfer to

the Dhaka airport for the final departure, if not then

check in a hotel and transfer to the airport next day.
