• This period witnesses pharaohs strengthening Egypt through creation of an empire

• Became conquerors through the use of bronze weapons and chariots

• Hatshepsut encouraged trade rather than war• Her stepson (heir) Thutmose led invasions

eastward into Palestine and Syria. Later he invades Nubia

• New Kingdom was the best time in Egyptian history even up to today
