The new roof is progressing well. The safety barricades are being moved to different places and some classes will have to be in a different learning space over the next few weeks. I am sure all of us will go with the flow. It will be fantastic to have a new waterproof, secure roof. Assembly The school assembly will take place this Friday at 9am in the Bradley Hall. All parents and carers are invited to attend. Canteen – Changes to hours As of next Monday, 20 th May our canteen will be open up until the end of recess time on a Monday. Students will still be able to place a lunch order for cold food and it will be delivered at the end of recess. The canteen will be open as normal on Friday. NAPLAN Online NAPLAN will be done over the next 2 weeks. Writing will be done first this Wednesday and the other NAPLAN assessments will be done in the computer room at the end of this week and next Mothers Day Stall I hope all the mothers and carers had a wonderful day on Sunday. Thanks to the Edward P & C, Nat and Alisha and Mary Dawson and to all the school community members who donated gifts. It wouldnt be possible to achieve these initiatives without the support of all school community members. Breakfast Program The Breakfast Program operates on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this term. Students will be able to get a piece of toast and a variety of spreads from the canteen between 8:30 and 8:50. Any parents or carers who would like to assist Mrs Strong can contact her through the office. Edward Cross Country The cross country will be held this Friday 17 th May. Information notes were sent home last Friday. Students and parents/carers are reminded that this is a regular school day and all students aged 8 – 13 are expected to attend the cross country. PBL Reward I am sure all the students enjoyed their PBL reward last week. Their next reward will be a Pyjama Day. All teachers are continuing to teach the expected behaviours from the PBL Matrix and handing out counters in the playground to students who are following the school Rainbow Rules and demonstrating the school PBL values. I have included below the timetable for the settings that will be taught each week. Principal’s Update

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

As you can see by looking around the school, things continue to be very busy at Edward Public. The new roof is progressing well. Dental Visit

Edward School students are being offered the opportunity to have their teeth checked at school. Note will be sent home today. Please return them to the office by Monday the3rd June. The free visits will take place on the 11th and 18th of June. Thank you to the Deniliquin Public Dental Service for organising this for our students. If you have any questions please contact the school office.

Jump Rope for Heart Skipping Rope Orders Last chance to order a skipping rope. One order will only be submitted to the Heart Foundation.

Cost is $7.00 per White rope. This size is suitable up to 147cm in height, usually Kindergarten/Year 1 students.

Cost is $8.00 per Red rope. This size is suitable up to 170cm in height, usually Year 2 - 6 students.

Please return order form below along with payment to the school office by tomorrow, Tuesday 14th May.

3/4DY - Wonderful Screening Last week, 3/4DY had a ‘WONDERful’ morning. In term one, the class studied books that had been made into movies, in a theme called “Off to the Movies”. They read the book WONDER. Last Wednesday they celebrated a great terms work by watching the movie and having popcorn.
