Book Buddies provides an enriched pre-school experience for children ages two to five. Children enjoy the wonder of familiar and new authors and illustrators. The books-of-the-week set the stage for the activities: art projects, group time, music, games, outdoor play time, snack time and much more.

Register your child to stay at the Edina Family Center before or after Book Buddies for lunch! You can register for Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday anytime between 11:30 – 1:00. You will select your 1 hour time slot that will work with your child’s Book Buddy schedule.

You will be notified by email or phone by April 19th with your confirmed Munch a Lunch schedule. When you register online you will be placed on a waiting list prior to finalizing the schedule. You supply a peanut/nut free lunch and the Edina Family Center provides a fun lunch hour for your child!

EARLY CHILDHOOD FAMILY EDUCATIONClasses run from May 29 – August 1. The age of your child as of June 1, 2013 determines your class for the summer.

ECFE PROGRAMS allow parents to attend class with their children. All classes allow for parent/child interaction and some separation for a portion of the time. Parents discuss child development and family issues with a trained Parent Educator, while the children follow a curriculum planned by licensed Early Childhood teachers.

Kindergarten Camp is in collaboration with the Edina Public Schools Kindergarten staff. Each session will offer enrichment, field trip, and an integrated curriculum of language and literacy, math, science and dramatic play. Get your child excited and prepared for Kindergarten!Your child must be registered to attend Kindergarten in September 2013.

We provide a gentle and loving atmosphere for children six weeks through Kindergarten. Your child will spend time in age-appropriate activities under the supervision of our highly trained, dedicated staff. We are licensed by the Department of Human Services.

Summer Registration

Registration for Edina School District Residents will begin on March 21st, 2013 online at 8:00 AM. Registration for non residents will begin on March 28th, 2013 online at 8:00 AM.

To register online go to http://edina.thatscommunity.com.The Edina Family Center accepts Visa and Mastercard. Your card will be charged at the time of registration. A non refundable $5.00 registration fee will be charged for all ECFE Book Buddies Classes, Kindergarten Camp and Block Time.

The Edina Family Center offers high-quality early education programs for families with children from birth through age five. Programs include new baby and me classes, Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE), preschool, childcare and more.

EDINA FAMILY CENTER

YOUTH PROGRAMSYouth programs offers a variety of fun and educational activities for ages 3-18. KIDS Club (gr. K-3), WISE Guys (gr. 4-5), and SURGE (gr. 6-9) provide high-quality out-of-school time care. Classes and camps offer new and favorite enrichment subjects. Youth Serving Youth (YSY) at Edina High School provides student leadership and service activities.

Edina Center for Adult Education engages adults of all ages with extensive learning opportunities, ranging from cooking, fitness and world language courses, 21st century technology and career exploration, and metro-area field trips and world travel.

VOLUNTEER

Edina’s Community Volunteer Program invites community members to share their time, talents, and passion for learning with Edina students. Volunteers work in all nine schools to offer basic skills help, homework help, and speak as a resource.
