2-YEAR-OLDS PLAY PALSTwos are growing at high speed, so they require guidance and limits as they set out to try everything in sight. Our classrooms are set up to allow children to engage all of their senses as they sing, dance, create, build, problem solve, communicate and socialize.

Children gain confidence, trust, and independence as their parents separate for a facilitator led parenting time which focuses on parent generated topics including eating, toilet learning, separation anxiety, and language development as well as other relevant topics.

Each class provides many opportunities for your child to develop social and problem solving skills while the two of you enjoy some uninterrupted high quality play and learning together time. You will also leave with new ideas and activities that reinforce the weekly classroom activities and parent education. Must be age 2 by 9/1/15.

Early Childhood Screening

The early childhood years from birth to the start of kindergarten are an important time of rapid learning and growth.

Early Childhood Screening is a FREE and simple check of how your child is growing and developing offered through the Schools of Eastern Carver County.

Between the ages of 3 and 4, screening can detect possible health or learning concerns, so that children can get help before they start school.

Parents accompany their child through the approximate hour-long process. After the screening activities, the screener shares information on a child’s growth, development, and learning.

Join us at screening as soon as your child turns 3. Discover more about their development and learning, such as:

• Thinking, language, and communication skills• Social and emotional development• Large and small muscle coordination• Height and weight• Vision and hearing• Immunization status

Screening AppointmentsScreening appointments are offered intermittently throughout the year on:

• Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.• Fridays from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. • Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

An email message confirming your appointment will be sent to you within two school days.

Did you know? Early Childhood screening is required before entrance

in Minnesota’s public schools.
