Spotlight on BitrodeFromitsbeginningsin1957,Bitrodehasconsistentlyproducedspecializedbatteryformation and lab testing equipmentrenownedforstandard-settingexcellencein engineering, accuracy, reliability, andconsistency. Bitrode’s product line hasexpandedfromitsformationequipmentand laboratory test instruments toinclude state-of-the-art software tools(circuit control and data acquisition),battery simulation and manufacturingautomation tools, and lab accessories(waterbaths, batteryracks)appropriatetoall battery applications and chemistries.

Their clients—users across the battery, automotive, and aircraft industries—have come to value Bitrode’s trademarkturnkey project management, ongoingservice, and commitment to technicalinnovation.

Bitrodealsooffersanextensiverangeofengineeringservicesinbothhardwareandsoftwaretoanymeetanyrequirementinany application. The company enjoysa longhistoryofpartnershipwithotherbest-in-class suppliers on large turn-keyprojects. Their collaboration with A&DTechnologies, forexample, hasresultedintheBitrodeequipmentandCSZchamberscontrolled by the A&D iTest system inGM’sAdvancedBatteryLablaboratoryinWarren, Michigan, and in Magna’s eCarprograminRochesterHills,Michigan.

One of the first in the industry toanticipate the ascendency of the hybridand electric vehicle market, Bitrode

launched development and productionoftheirfirstHEVhigh-power,high-speedequipment and test systems well beforeautomakers stepped up investment inadvancedtechnologyvehiclesearlyinthelastdecade.

Bitrode’s test equipment—known asthe “FTF” line of machines—performsadvanced applications requiring fastswitching speeds, extensive datacollection, and CAN interface for cell, module, andpack level testing toassurethat EV and HEV batteries can passrigorous standard tests (FUDS, ECE-15,DST).Theuniqueregenerativecapabilitiesoftheunitscanreturnpowerbacktothepower grid, thus virtually eliminatingheatdissipation, andrecyclingelectricity.Since the release of their first machinein 2003, Bitrode has led the industry incomplete turn-key solutions for HEV/EVcell,module,andpacktesting.
