Biowater has acquired a unique level of know-how on microorganisms for wastewater treatment

Microorganisms for wastewater treatment – An overview

• Invisible organisms (0.001 – 100 µm in diameter)

• Consisting of one or several cells and producing its own energy • Metabolizing pollutions in wastewater, producing clean water and CO2

• Microorganisms applied in a treatment plant are e.g. bacteria, fungi or protozoa

Biowater’s process knowledge

• The wastewater treatment process is carried out by many different microorganisms with a need for different growth conditions

• Selecting the right type and amount of microorganisms in biological treatment stage is key for establishing a continuous and safe process

• To get optimal results, different parameters have to be considered and controlled to ramp-up of the process at a wastewater treatment plant, e.g. growth kinetics, doubling time

AS MBBR CFIC®

CFIC® produces lower total suspended solids (TSS) concentrations than MBBR process, even at higher significantly higher wastewater loading rates.

Energy consumption CAPEX

Space required Solids in effluent

CFIC® allows 20% more compact bioreactors compared to MBBR due to its optimized process and biocarrier design.

Biowater’s proprietary CFIC® technology offers industry-leading performance when compared with widely used Activated Sludge and MBBR solutions. The low footprint, combined with Biowater’s approach to process design makes this far more versatile than existing

solutions, making it very suitable for a wide range of existing WWTP.

A higher oxygen transfer rate, due to a longer lifetime of the air bubbles, leads to lower energy consumption for air sputting. The biological treatment stage of a WTTP accounts for 2/3 of its total power consumption.

CFIC® can be integrated into existing WWTP, utilising many of the existing infrastructure.

CFIC    provides  significant  reduc(ons  in  energy,  capex  and  opex,  enabling  higher  quality  in  a  given  footprint.
